General Hospital (GH) recaps for Thursday, July 16, reveal that James West (temporary recast Easton Winn) disowned Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), as Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is gut-wrenched, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) lashes out at Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Starting on a fun note, Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) entered the Metro Court Pool with exciting news for Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner).
They tell their respective partners that the showcase was a success, and the music execs want them both to sign a contract as a duo.
Emma isn’t too happy with what’s been said, but the couple celebrates with champagne anyway.
Trina gets a call from Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) and tells her that her mom, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), has had the baby.
Trina and Kai head to the hospital, and when alone, Emma asks Gio if signing a music deal is what he wants.
He noted that he wasn’t sure if he wanted it, but if he doesn’t go for it, he may spend the rest of his life wondering ‘what if’.
The couple then shared a slow dance next to the pool as Gio serenaded her. Aaaahhh, young love, right?
Over at the hospital, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) tells Stella the story about how she delivered the baby and notes it was something she’ll never forget.
Stella sees Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) and shares the baby news with him.
Still, as he heads to Portia’s room, Stella strongly advises him to give Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia some space.
Curtis meets his son and holds him for the first time. The two were being very cordial and about to discuss baby names when Isaiah entered.
Looks like he didn’t take Aunt Stella’s advice, after all! Curtis is visibly annoyed and tells Isaiah that this is ‘private’ time.
Isaiah leaves and congratulates the happy couple as he smiles at Portia. Trina enters the room and shares a nice family moment with her parents and baby brother.
Isaiah runs into Jordan in the hallway and thanks her for being there for Portia to help her deliver.
Back in Portia’s room, Stella enters the equation and gushes over the baby, as she also gives Portia and Curtis a warning that they had better shape up now that the newborn is here.
Over on the other side of the hospital, General Hospital recaps for Thursday’s show confirm that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) visits Joss.
She confronts the girl about Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) being pinned the villain in the story leaked to the public, where Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was presented as the hero.
Josslyn stuck to her statement and urged Liesl not to stir the pot and go to the WSB. Josslyn made it seem like Cassius faked wanting to stop Cullum.
She also lied and said he shot her. Liesl wasn’t buying what Joss was selling and abruptly exited the room after she wished her speedy recovery.
Joss broke down after Liesl left. She recalled how Cassius vowed he would not end her life. Gut-wrenched, she looked up and apologized to Cassius for lying.
Elsewhere, Anna took Britt to a private area of the hospital stairwell to talk. Anna asked if the good doctor knew about Cassius holding her hostage at Wyndemere.
Britt noted she did not, which is when Anna lashed out at her for keeping Cassius’ true identity hidden from everyone.
Britt told Anna about how Cullum and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) dangled her Huntington’s disease meds over her to get her to do what they wanted … even though she never had the condition.
The superspy then reveals that Cassius learned all his ‘mind game’ tricks from his dad, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).
Britt tried to reason with Anna and tell her that they both had been played by Cullum, but that just angered Anna.
She accused both Britt and Cassius of being like Faison, people who enjoyed preying on the weakness of others.
Anna then angrily told Britt she refused to be deceived by her the way she had been by Cassius. On her way out, Britt noted they should stay away from each other.
Over at the Quartermaine stables, Cody told Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) that he was given the task to tell James that his dad, “Nathan,” was really Cassius.
While Molly reassured Cody that everything would work out, he was worried that James would hate him.
When Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) arrived with James, she noted the boy didn’t want to do anything since learning his dad had passed away.
Still, he made an exception when it came to Cody. Cody took James aside and reminded him of what his dad told him at the batting cages … that he would hear bad things about him.
Cody explained that those ‘bad things’ were that “Nathan” was really his twin brother, Cassius, who was pretending to be him.
The man James fell in love with was not his dad, but his uncle. James accused Cody of lying.
Liesl arrived at the stables and heard James screaming at his Uncle Cody. He ran into his oma’s arms and asked if what Cody had said was true.
Liesl confirmed it. Still, Liesl reminded him that while she was sad, she and James had people who loved them.
James noted he doesn’t love Cody anymore and never wants to see him again. #Yikes
General Hospital spoilers suggest that Cody was given an impossible task, and unfortunately, he has now lost James’ love and faith, so is there anything that can turn this situation around?
