In tonight’s Law & Order: SVU episode, there was a car accident. There were two cops nearby. They went over there to check on the drivers. They noticed the man that had gotten hit was acting strange and then they spotted the gun. They asked him about a permit. He wasn’t talking so they got him out of the car.

Officer Accosta put the then nonverbal mans in cuffs. Officer Rodriguez searched the rest of the car and he found a young boy in the trunk. He was bound. He was luckily still alive. Those cops saved that boy’s life. And Benson even got a full confession Richard Caine once he was speaking again.

Unfortunately, it was all tainted. Officer Rodriguez lied on the stand. He said he spotted the gun some distance away. He actually spotted it when he put his whole head into the car.

He shouldn’t have done that. He didn’t have probably cause to do that. Him spotting the gun was how they searched the car and found the boy in the first place. It was therefore all tainted. Everything that happened after he technically broke the law. The judge hated doing it. He didn’t want to and he still had to let Caine walk free because the search wasn’t done properly.

ADA Carisi was just as upset. This trial happened six months after those cops rescued the boy. He prepped Rodriguez three times for court and he never once mentioned what he did.

The defense attorney brought it up. She had footage taken by the crowd. It proved he didn’t spot the gun until he stuck his head through the window. The case got tossed. This included his confession to Benson. The cops now have to start over from scratch. They had to find evidence that was in no way connected to the bad search.

They went back to Caine’s ex-wife. She still didn’t know anything. They got married after two months and that was because she felt no one else would ask. She was also still upset that he was freed.

The same goes for the little boy’s family. Bobby DeBoer refuses to talk about what happened. He wouldn’t talk to his parents or the therapist. Benson played catch with him. She could see he wasn’t ready to talk. She was afraid of retraumatizing him as well so she left it at catch. They checked out Caine’s previous employer. They found out he had an alias back then.

Richard Caine used to be known as Matthew Parker. Parker was wanted in the disappearance of a little boy. Same age as Bobby. The two even looked alike. The little boy’s remains have never been found.

He disappeared and there was nothing to determine what happened next. SVU believed the child was probably dead. They also figured out that the boy in Florida wasn’t his first one. They contacted the detective on the case down there and he was willing to fly up to walk them through the whole case file.

There were three boys taken in all in Florida. They were all in Caine’s zone. He was a lineman for the phone company at the time. He saw the boys everyday. He took one every two years.

Until the detective finally put the pieces together. The first two boys had their bodies washed up and found after Hurricane Nicole. Detective Torres finally figured out what they all had in common. He felt that something was off with the man he knew as Parker. He said that it stuck to the skin the first time he had to talk to him.

Benson recognized that feeling during her interview with Caine. She said he was evil. She could feel the evil coming off of him. Its why she knew she had to stop him. Detective Torres identified what car that Caine had used in Florida. It was found abandoned in New York. Making it state owned now.

They didn’t need a warrant to search it and they found out that Caine was still burying the bodies on the beach. He had a receipt for a beach still in that car. They later found a homeless man who identified Caine as the sandwich guy. He kept giving out sandwiches to the homeless in return for them walking somewhere else.

They found the bodies. There was at least three of them when they first began to look. One was the missing boy from Florida. The others were all from Caine’s drive back to New York. He originally came from Upstate. He was made for downloading child porn. He got arrested and was soon released because he was a small fish.

He then took on the identity of Matthew Parker. He moved to Florida. He started killing boys there. He then got found out so he went back home and resurrected his true identity as Richard Caine.

They got DNA off of one of the victims and it was enough to finally arrest Caine.

They thought they were keeping tabs on him. They didn’t know that Caine figured out they were tracking him. He ditched the tracker on a cab. He disappeared the same time as a little boy was kidnapped in Queens. They knew it was him and they were up against a clock. There was so much beach property in the boroughs that it was difficult to pinpoint Caine’s location.

They ended up going back to his ex-wife. They asked her if she had ever been to the beach with Caine or if he had a favorite spot. She said that he hated the beach. He used to go camping with his step-grandfather. She always felt something bad happen with the guy.

Caine never liked being questioned about where he goes. He married his wife as a shield. He didn’t love her and so she had no problem with helping them. The camping trip with the real Parker happened at a cabin.

The cops searched property records. They found it. They went there and they found the little boy. He was unharmed. Caine tried to run. He shot at them. He shot two cops before Griffin finally captured him. Griffin being one of the cops that got shot. There was a moment that Griffin felt like killing the guy and he didn’t take it because he owed it to his captain.

He wanted to be a better man than his father. Or his father’s late partner. He confronted Tynan about his dad. He got her on tape. It was enough to ruin her career and so he gave that leverage to Benson to save herself from Tynan. Tynan can no longer interfere with SVU. Benson was staying in charge and that was that.

THE END!
