In tonight’s NCIS: Sydney finale part 2 episode, the team finally connected the dots that Trigger did. They learned that a huge amount of criminal informants have come forward to assist with this supposed War On Drugs. Truthfully, it had been Meyers clearing the board of all competitors.
He was about to make a huge sale and he removed everyone who could’ve stood in the way of that. Mackey got the info after she questioned him again. He told her that it would be a big deal to their nation if she moved onto the buyer after the sale. He gets richer. She closes a huge case.
Only Mackey didn’t care about the optics. She was still pushing ahead with the war crimes angle. She found a survivor of the flight she took that killed almost everyone else. His name is Tate Hanley. He faked his suicide to go on the run from the Collective. Blue and DeShawn found him together.
They got Tate to tell them about a separate incident in which he was an eye-witness. It too was a war crime. Mackey thought she had Meyers right where she wanted him. He then pulled out the big guns. The car that her son was in had been forced off the road. It landed in the river. The driver was shot in the head and that’s what almost killed her boy.
Trey was only able to survive because of his dad. Ryan told him to hide when he heard footsteps coming their way. He didn’t think they were friendly. Ryan was right about that because Trey was hidden as he witnessed those men grab his father. They took off with Ryan before the police showed up.
Mackey heard about the car accident on the news. She went rushing to the scene with JD at her side. It was only when he heard his mother’s voice that Trey came out of hiding. He told her what happened with his dad. He asked his mom to get him back and she tried to.
It was more difficult than she originally thought because Meyers wanted a prisoner trade. Meyers for Ryan. It was the only way that Meyers was getting out of prison. He was about to be moved to an off the grid site where people will pretend he never existed in the first place. He needed out. He needed it fast.
He grabbed Ryan because he knew what he meant to Mackey. Mackey was going to do anything to bring him home. She couldn’t leave another soldier behind. She wouldn’t leave Ryan behind either.
Mackey had a conversation with Callaghan. He mentioned that his boss the president was a mercantile man. As long as they could spin it into a win, she wouldn’t be ousted. She got close to finding the man that took Ryan. She learned that his real name is Reid Cannon. He was former Delta Force. He got bounced from several positions in the armed forces before he landed in the CIA where he met Meyers. And that’s when he joined the Collective because he was a man without morals or a conscience.
They caught up to him. They found where Reid was hiding. Reid used Ryan as a human shield. He nearly killed DeShawn again. He then escaped just not before Blue hacked his phone. She couldn’t get the location. She could on the other hand see the messages he sent out. She found out there was another way to get Reid and rescue Ryan. There had been someone else in on everything. It had been Callaghan. Callaghan wanted to take down the Collective to be the main diamond in his future crown.
Callaghan was even willing to betray his chief of staff if it meant making Mackey nervous. He wanted her to go through with the trade. Mackey pretended like she was going to do just that. She signed Meyers out of prison. She put him in the back of a van that got pulled over by gunmen. Meyers then left with his saviors. He didn’t realize that it was just Mackey and JD under those hoods. They had proof of Meyers meeting with Callaghan to sell out the Collective. In return, he was paid eight hundred million dollars.
They never planned on returning Ryan. So, Mackey didn’t feel bad about what she and her team did. They stopped the transaction from going through. Mackey hopped on the private plane that was set to transport Callaghan. She found Ryan. She then put him in a skydiving suit. Callaghan said there was only one of those. There was no escaping for the two of them, but he underestimated Mackey again. Mackey jumped with just one shoot tied around Ryan. She survived by holding on for dear life.
She rescued Ryan. The rest of her team and a certain FBI Agent put Meyers back in handcuffs. Two of them this time because they didn’t want him to be able to move at all. Meyers was arrested. Mackey now has an eyewitness to Callaghan’s betrayal – Ryan! Callaghan couldn’t return home in victory. What he did leave with was that information on the Collective. And seeing he’s now on the run, he might try to restart the Collective down the road.
It possibly be revealed next season because tonight was the season finale. Evie and Trigger had something going on. DeShawn and Park had a moment. Even Mackey had a moment with JD. It didn’t go anywhere because these same people realized they still have to work together come tomorrow.
JD killed Reid. Meyers was back in prison. Callaghan was on the loose, but not for long. Mackey left her phone on the plane so she could use the find my phone app to see where he goes next.
THE END!
