On tonight’s Sheriff Country episode, Wes Fox started a war that he didn’t want to see through to the end. He lost the original three million that a collective of illegal growers put together. He then got the money back for them by stealing from the DEA.

That was a risk he took because he was in a tight spot. He didn’t want let down so many people or get beaten up again. He stole the money back. He then left the collective. He said he was too old to continue. He also recently got his legal growing license so he didn’t need to do this anymore. He only did because one of them had convinced him. And now he wants out right as everyone was getting in trouble.

The DEA doesn’t just forgive people for stealing from them. They were coming down on Edgewater with their full might. They wanted to wrangle all the illegal growers. They wanted arrests. They wanted that money back.

Leading the charge was Mickey’s on-again fling, DEA Agent Alec Kane. He led several helicopters straight to the heart of Deadwater. Mickey found out about it after the fact. She got upset with Alec. She later demanded to know what he was doing in her town again and he said he found evidence of a weed cartel right there in Deadwater.

The DEA was under the impression that JoAnne Henshaw spearheaded the whole thing. She pushed Wes. It was actually Wes who took things that far so both he and Mama Jo wanted to get the hell out of town.

They were told old to go back to prison. Wes was popping heart pills. He would die in there if he goes back. He agreed with Mama Jo. He said he’d go with her to Alaska, but first he wanted to do a few things. He told his friend that he’d be two hours behind her. Wes being Wes he had to push his luck.

Wes tried to sell his land to the Bulgarians. He was busy selling everything. Mickey on the other hand had gotten a wellness check call from Liman Ford’s landlord. He’s the guy that’s been buying up the growers’ land for Emerald Eden LLC.

He just didn’t know who was behind the company. They checked his apartment for that wellness check and they found him hanging. He’s been dead for days. It was made to look like a suicide when it was murder. The Sheriff’s department had that confirmed when they went go talk to the only other man from Emerald Eden that they knew about.

His name was Frank Stokes. He was fatally stabbed that same morning they found Ford’s body. Emerald Eden was cutting any loose ends and the deputies only knew about those two men. Who was behind Emerald Eden? No one knows. Frank was a part of a motorcycle gang. Boone and Hank found someone else from Death Merchants. Mack Maguire was his name. They annoyed him hoping to get a reaction. He never talked or showed fear. It told Boone in his own way that the man wasn’t worried about being cut. He was doing the cutting.

Maguire was the other enforcer. The one that put Dale in a coma. They went to the Medical Examiner to find out that Maguire’s custom made knuckle bruiser was actually indented in Ford’s head. The ME found it after she shaved the victim hair.

She also took Boone to task for ghosting her. She figured out he was interested in another woman. She just didn’t know it was Mickey. Boone finally came clean about his feelings to her. He got into a dust up with Alec. He was feeling jealous so he told her that he’s in love with her.

Mickey then told him that nothing can happen. He was family. He will always be family, but she couldn’t go there with him because she remained his boss. Boone took it rather well in spite of everything.

He even apologized to Alec for nearly fighting him. He finally was in a place to receive advice and Alec told about the Death Merchants hideout spot. He also warned him to pack heavy because those gangbangers will rather go out in style so to speak. Maguire did exactly that when he committed suicide by cop.

He fired at the deputies. They were forced to return fire. Maguire was killed and there goes everything they had on Emerald Eden. To make matters worse, Mickey found out that Luna wore her uniform when they stole the money from the DEA. She later had to arrest her own father and it still got worse.

DEA Deputy Director Santos came to town and she was personally investigating Mickey to see if she’s corrupt. They needed someone to blame for the theft. The fact her father ran a cartel under her own roof showed she was either willfully blind or too much of a liability.

THE END!
