In tonight’s Sheriff Country episode, five Edgewater teenagers were brought to the hospital after overdosing. They overdosed on “cyclone”. It’s what they were calling the new drugs made seemingly created out of paper. The paper appearance helped it to hide. The cops weren’t checking for it or so they thought. The Sheriff’s office knew about cyclone.
They just thought it was still being used in prisons. They had no clue it spread. Their source was Donna Hawkins. The young woman who nearly killed herself to get away from the people pushing this new drug. She got hooked on it and they wanted her to sell for them or work off her debt by selling herself into sexual slavery.
Now, Donna informed the Mickey about all of this. She said she didn’t think the drugs were serious. She thought it was harmless because of its appearance and tox screens showed it was stronger than even fentanyl. It was flooding the town. It took down the teens who wanted to get high to celebrate surviving midterms.
They nearly didn’t survive that drug. They were rushed to the hospital in time. The guy who bought it for his friends was revived at the hospital. He said he heard about the drugs on campus. And that he bought it from the bookstore.
A lot of college kids live at the bookstore. It was the perfect place to push drugs on a younger demographic. They had to go there to buy overpriced required textbooks. They often went into debt there on top of paying tuition and so that was the perfect chance for someone to sell them drugs.
It could be hidden in books. It could be sold right over the stand in a room full of people. Thos who know will know. Those who didn’t would keep looking. Cass later went undercover at the bookstore as a grad student.
Cass bought a book full of drugs from Courtney Ulrich. She was on scholarship at Edgewater University. She’s made the Dean List. She seemed like a good kid and so they arrested her without burning her
They wanted to know how she was entangled with the Stoyanovs. It became every important once Mickey realized her father had been abducted by those people. Her mom was able to talk her down. She said that he wasn’t killed right out and that the kidnapping could be a test. For him and for Mickey.
The Stoyanovs wanted to see a reaction. Eva was right in that they did test Wes. They wanted him to do them another a favor and then only then will he get his land back. Wes was brought in to assist them with their grow. It was the first grow that Sonny’s father ever bought. It was dying on Sonny’s watch. It was his first season as the big cheese. He couldn’t let the grow die on him. Wes quickly determined what was the problem. He said the soil was being poisoned by the water supply. There’s chemicals in the ones they were using. They needed fresh water.
Wes helped set it up. He arranged for fresh water to help the weed grow again. Only he was rewarded with something else besides his land. He was rewarded with a young woman. She was barely legal. She also wasn’t there willingly. Wes didn’t know it at the time but he met Molly. Molly was Country Ulrich’s sister. They only had each other. Molly was addicted to drugs. Her sister tried to get her clean and it worked for a while. Molly then met some shady people who got her back into the party scene. It wasn’t long before she incurred a drug debt that the dealers wanted her to pay off with her body.
Molly disappeared on Courtney for a couple of months. Courtney reported her missing until one day she was sent a photo of Molly with a gun to her head. She was told about the debt. She was told to use her job on campus to pay it off. The sheriff’s office flipped her. They then laid in wait for the next shipment. They found it was delivered by Petar. Petar’s name was on the van. The books were in his name. Sonny had arranged for him to be the fall guy if he was ever caught. The moment they pointed out to an already unhappy Petar – he became willing to turn against the Stoyanovs.
It happened at the right time. Wes’s cover was blown. He offered to help get Molly and the other girls out of there. They needed to go before one of them was discovered to be pregnant. There was four of them in total. They were escaping with or without him so Wes agreed to meet them up in the woods. He was going to steal a car to get them out of Deadwater. He was caught before he could meet with them by Anna Stoyanov. She knew all about the business and that Wes would be a problem. She alerted her son before he could get away.
Wes then survived by his wits. He killed a man. He used another as a human shield. His daughter helped him to stay alive. Yet, he was gone by time Mickey showed up with Eva and reinforcements. The girls were also gone. They escaped on their own. And most of the Stoyanovs got away to rebuild elsewhere.
THE END!
