In tonight’s Sheriff Country, the manhunt continued on tonight’s episode. The local police as well as the DEA were searching for the Stoyanovs. They escalated from weed and were trafficking in people. They were also selling a new drug that was far more dangerous than anything else on the street. Mickey as Sheriff wanted two things.
The first one being finding the girls that were enslaved. The second and probably most important part was finding her father. He went in undercover with the Stoyanovs. He blew his cover in order to help those girls. The mob wanted him dead and scaring her like this might also want Mickey to joke about wanting him dead too.
Still, he was the one parent she had for a while. Her mother took off on them. They thought she was dead. It turns out she was a federal agent who put work before her family and so Wes, Skye, Sharon’s family were all she really had.
That is until she met Boone. Boone was reopening his wound several times merely to assist Mickey with this case. He hadn’t told her about his injury. He hadn’t told her about all the dumb things he’s been doing to ensure she doesn’t have anything else to worry about.
It was the other deputies that recognized Boone hasn’t been himself lately. Not since he confessed his feelings to Mickey only for her to turn him down. She couldn’t mix work with whatever they could be. Boone came in handy with the manhunt. He introduced her to Parker Chase. Now, Chase operates Skotos AI.
It was a way of bringing technology together with policing. They claimed that no one with a cell phone will get away with a crime thanks to their AI program. They’ve already worked with Drake County. Sheriff Jim Wade was a friend of Mickey’s. He put in a good word.
Skotos AI perhaps had the few thermal imagining drones that could search Deadwater. They soon found Wes. Wes found the girls and he took them to safety at an old cabin he knew about.
There were a lot of growers who had second cabins hidden in the Deadwater area. They were there for whoever needed to hide. They also had quite a few traps. Stoyanov’s men followed Wes there. They ran into a trap. Wes got an semiautomatic weapon from them. He demanded that the guy he captured use his radio to warn the other men off.
Wes wasn’t going to risk the girls. One of them was pregnant. She fell while they were on the move. Wes handed one of his guns to the three girls and he told them to go on without him. He was going to get the Molly off the mountain. They were caught by another Bulgarian. Wes ended up taking care of him. He and Molly soon found the others along with the Sheriff’s office. They even ran into the firefighters. The firefighters offered first aide. Wes got yelled at by his daughter. Mickey had been so worried about him.
The same goes for Skye. Skye hadn’t been in contact with Wes so she called her mom. She called her quite a few times with no answers. It wasn’t like Mickey. Skye went to the office to check with her mom.
She found out what was happening. The worst part was being told to wait. There was no one in that family who was okay with waiting. Skye eventually realized that she wasn’t a kid anymore. Maybe it was time to start taking care of her mom back. She celebrated when there was good news about her grandpa and she also ordered in dinner for her mom.
Mickey had to work an all-nighter. She had so many reports to finish. Her dad meanwhile was sleeping with his ex. Yeah, he slept with Eva. Eva thought that the Stoyanovs were heading to Peru and she found out it was a decoy. She was about to leave town without talking to her daughter. Wes stopped her. He told her that she could use Petar.
Petar would know how Sonny ran his business if he went on the run. Petar was at a DEA safehouse in protective custody. Or he was before someone killed him and the US Marshall guarding him.
There goes the case against Sonny Stoyanov. They have no clue where he is or what he’ll do next. Mickey wasn’t happy about that news in the slightest. She had finally learned about the stupid things Boone has been doing. She saw a death wish when confronted with the paperwork about it. She tried to talk to Boone.
He snapped. He demanded a “thank you” for always having her back. They got into a shouting message that ended with her dismissing him from her office. And even Cass had a word with Boone.
She warned him that he couldn’t keep going like this. Boone might’ve of heard her. It was hard to tell with that guy. Either way all hands were needed to find Sonny now that he was destroying loose ends.
They put guards with most of the girls. They couldn’t find Priya. Priya gave them a fake number. She wasn’t injured enough to go to the hospital. She just wanted to disappear and never think about the past again. Cass still figured out she was staying with her aunt. She called to Priya to warn her. The call had nearly come too late.
Sonny had sent men after the girls. He couldn’t get to the others. He was going to kill Priya. Priya noticed his men outside and she hid until the deputies safeguarded the area. They soon arrived to do just that.
They took down the men. Sonny was scrambling yet he still fell for a trap the feds set. The trap was that his father was still accepting medical treatment. They found Konstantin and his mother. They demanded her assistance in getting Sonny to come in or else it wasn’t going to be pretty.
Sonny was upset when he later found out his mom betrayed him. By then he was already in police custody. The Stoyanovs were done. Their empire was destroyed. It’s sad that so many had to die to make that possible. The upside were that the girls are home. Wes got to see Eva again. Eva made peace with her daughter as well as her granddaughter.
She was ten years sober. She apologized for passing on that gene to her. She also said how proud she was of her. Skye was a strong young woman. They were all proud of her.
Eva left town again. Wes was going to try pursing her even if it meant he had to take a trip to Costa Rica to it. Only first the entire Sheriff department came together to celebrate Gina. Gina was officially cancer free.
Cass dressed up for it. Boone realized he needed to take time off work. Wes demanded a speech. Gina gave a brief one in which she said was open to find her next husband.
And funnily enough it wasn’t long before Sharon had Wes committing more crimes.
