Daphne Carter Walton’s Promise
Let’s start with Daphne, who just got an unexpected diagnosis from Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda).
During that conversation, The Nose was told she has premature menopause and would most likely not be able to have children.
While Daphne was in disbelief, she seemed more worried about her promise to Carter.
Don’t get us wrong, we believe Daphne wanted a child too, but she kept crying about the promise she made to Carter.
So, that’s making us wonder if Carter is more desperate than Daphne for a family.
That could very well change the future of this storyline.
Carter Walton’s Long-Time Desire
As for Carter, fans have watched the man rush to propose marriage to nearly every lady he’s been with.
Carter has always made it crystal clear that he wants the “whole package.” That’s a wife and at least one child.
While Carter does want a family badly, he didn’t marry Daphne just to have kids. Carter married HER, not just her uterus.
Criminal Desperation?

While some think Daphne might resort to surrogacy or adoption, what if this storyline takes a different turn?
What if it’s Carter that ends up taking desperate action?
Going a step further, Carter might not just take desperate action, but an illegal one.
Carter is a very experienced lawyer. If he can find an unclaimed baby, could he make it legally his somehow?
We don’t see Carter just bringing home a baby and handing it to Daphne.
Could he mimic Jack Finnegan (Ted King) and make up a story, making it seem like the surprise baby was fate.
Wrong Move Could Change Everything
However, we have also seen Carter slack on legal issues.
If Carter does go the baby-stealing route could he end up making sure Daphne gets a child, but could he end up in prison as a result?
What would make that sacrifice even sadder is if Daphne moved on with another man, leaving Carter alone behind bars.
