The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers hint that Carter Walton’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) big mistake could cost him in more ways than one.
Carter’s marriage to Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire) is on the line as well as his friendship to Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), but his job could be at stake, too.
In the August 24 episode, Ridge was grateful to Carter for being there for Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in her time of need.
Of course, Ridge doesn’t realize Carter offered a lot more than just a shoulder to cry on!
During that conversation, Ridge also reflected on rockier times in his relationship with Carter.
That brought some talk about the Forrester coup and Carter’s previous involvement with Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle).
Ridge has suddenly decided to pretend he actually cares about Hope again, so he acted like it bothered him that Carter was with his stepdaughter.
This is obviously B&B’s way of adding to Carter’s guilt and setting the stage for Ridge to find out Carter had a one-night stand with Steffy.
Although Steffy has resolved to keep that news under wraps, we all know the truth’s going to come out in the end.
Once that happens, Ridge could retaliate and potentially leave Carter looking for another job.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Ridge was angry enough to fire Carter and have him escorted off the premises.
Steffy will no doubt defend Carter when all this blows up since it takes two to tango.
They were both drunk and seeking comfort from each other that night, so this is just as much Steffy’s fault as it is Carter’s.
However, Ridge may hold Carter responsible anyway after the big reveal plays out.
This could lead to Ridge giving Carter the boot from both his life and the company.
Ridge may insist he wants Carter out of the COO spot and refuse to accept his legal counsel anymore.
Once Carter breaks the trust between them and leaves Ridge feeling betrayed, it could have major consequences.
Bottom line, Ridge may blame Carter for getting passionate with Steffy and potentially destroying her marriage to John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), so stay tuned to see if he’ll strike back.
