The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, January 30, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will get caught on security footage while Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) calls out psycho Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
At the motel, Mariah will play up their next hiding place as she talks to Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark), who’ll go to the bathroom before they begin their long car ride.
After Dominic puts on his hat and coat, Mariah will encourage him to keep his head down and run to the car with her.
Dominic will inadvertently leave one of his mittens behind on the floor as they go.
In the car, Mariah will play “I Spy” with Dominic and worry when a police car appears, but it’ll drive on by.
Mariah will cry a bit at one point, but she’ll act like she’s just emotional over enjoying their special time together.
At home on Friday’s Y&R episode, Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Winters (Bryton James) will talk about the kidnapper being in a security camera blind spot when they approached Dominic.
Although the kidnapper was seen leading Dom off the property, it was impossible to tell for sure whether the person was a man or woman since they were all bundled up.
That said, Abby and Devon will consider the possibility that someone they knew took Dominic since he took their hand and didn’t look scared.
Devon and Abby will eventually visit Crimson Lights, where they’ll run into Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei).
Once Daniel and Tessa learn about Dominic’s snatching, Devon will offer up the pic of the scarf that was found.
Tessa will be horrified when she realizes it’s the same one-of-a-kind scarf she gave Mariah for Christmas a couple years ago.
That’ll force Tessa to admit Mariah hasn’t been right for a while now and that she recently checked herself out of the Boston psychiatric facility she’d been staying in.
Tessa won’t want to believe Mariah’s so far gone that she’d do this, but Devon and Abby will get confirmation soon after.
The cops will have a lead since someone was spotted with a kid matching Dom’s description at a motel.
Abby and Devon will rush to the room Mariah and Dominic were last seen in, but only his mitten will be left there.
After Abby recognizes it and cries, Devon will look at a still shot from motel security footage.
Devon will confirm that Mariah is the one who took Dominic and will head home with Abby as they try to make sense of Mariah’s actions.
Tessa will also remain on edge and lean on Daniel as she struggles to understand why Mariah would do something like this.
On Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) train, he’ll let Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) know that the takeover is official and that contracts are being drawn up.
Billy will seem down in the dumps, so Cane won’t get it since he should be on cloud nine.
That’ll lead to Billy offering updates on Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) weakening heart and how it’s best if they don’t go public with their big news yet.
At the GCAC, Phyllis will bicker with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) before Sharon joins him in ripping into her.
Sharon will act like Phyllis is as bad as psychopath Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins), so Phyllis will be offended over the comparison.
Phyllis won’t care if her friendship with Sharon ends since she’ll doubt Sharon or Nick ever cared about her to begin with.
Nick will warn Phyllis that she’s gone too far, so Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) won’t forgive her for this.
After Nick warns Phyllis about achieving her dreams only to end up alone, Phyllis will privately try to call Summer and get no answer.
Summer will text Phyllis not to call her again, so Phyllis will seem uneasy.
