The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, June 26, reveals that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will have a terrifying realization while Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) finds out Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) have cooked up a plot.
At Dr. Laurence Markham’s (Jere Burns) house, Diane will have a meltdown over the news that Jack moved Patty into the Abbott mansion.
After Diane accuses Dr. Markham of working with Patty and keeping her prisoner, he’ll insist she’s grasping at explanations to avoid the truth.
Dr. Markham will claim that when he went to visit Jack at the Abbott estate, Jack was dismissive of him and didn’t seem interested in Diane’s progress.
Dr. Markham will also indicate that Patty was quite cozy with Jack and that she was playing hostess like she lived there.
After Dr. Markham lies that Jack called him and gave him permission to reveal what they talked about, he’ll insist Jack doesn’t believe Diane can forgive him.
Dr. Markham will play up the idea of Jack thinking there’s too much pain to move past, so Diane will cry over her husband leaving her and letting someone else fill her in.
However, Y&R fans will ultimately hear Diane’s thoughts as she acknowledges Jack would never be this cruel.
Diane will assume Dr. Markham and Patty are indeed working together, but she’ll struggle to understand Jack’s angle and why he’s going along with things.
After Diane’s tearful performance, she’ll get Dr. Markham to agree to give her a mild sedative and will act grateful for his support.
At Crimson Lights, Jack will refuse to let Kyle break in Dr. Markham’s house and will insist on doing it himself.
Kyle will leave a voicemail for Dr. Markham claiming he saw Diane through the window after following him to his property.
After Kyle threatens to call the police, Dr. Markham will call him back and insist he must be mistaken.
Dr. Markham will maintain that Diane is at a clinic and will agree to come talk this over with Kyle at Crimson Lights.
Once Jack knows Dr. Markham is about to leave his house, he’ll race off to break in and try to get Diane back.
However, there could be a problem since it’ll be revealed that Patty has been standing around the corner listening to Kyle and Jack scheme.
Back with Dr. Markham, he’ll tell Diane that he’s going to get her sedatives and will think it’s good that she’s trusting him.
At the hospital, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be an emotional wreck over Nikki’s ordeal and will eventually head to Society, where he’ll get confirmation from Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) that Dr. Virginia Nottingham can do the surgery.
Dr. Nottingham will plan to fly to Genoa City today, so Victor will insist she can take the Newman jet.
Both Stephanie and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will get Victor’s gratitude for everything they’ve done to help Nikki.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will also find out about Nikki’s mass and risk of blindness, so she’ll share some supportive words with Victor.
Back at the hospital, Nikki will feel like her world is getting darker and will take a moment to appreciate Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) beautiful face while she still can.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will also admit to Nikki that she brought Victor in the loop and that he’s found her a top-notch surgeon in Manhattan.
Finally, Victor will return with confirmation that Dr. Nottingham is on the way, but Nikki will worry it may be too late and will panic since her eyesight will already be totally gone.
