The Young and the Restless Friday, October 2 Recap: Nick Attacks Joe, Lies to Detective Burrow

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, October 2, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will keep secrets after a shocking showdown with Joe (Chris Grant Wenchell), so Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen) will be suspicious.

At the secret apartment, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will dream about angry Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) showing up and realizing she’s been sneaking around with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Kyle will come along and realize Victoria’s having a bad dream, so he’ll reassure her once she wakes up.

That’ll lead to Victoria confiding her concerns about Nick, so Kyle will give her a pep talk and hold her as she cries.

At the GCAC, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will fret to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) about Nick, but Chelsea will point out that there’s only so much Adam can do for his brother.

After Adam decides to go looking for Nick again, he’ll run into Sally on the way out and confirm he’s coming to the wedding if that’s OK with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Sally will feel certain that it’s going to be fine and will let Adam feel the baby kick as Chelsea watches in the distance.

Once Sally joins Chelsea’s table, they’ll gab about the wedding and the bachelorette party.

Chelsea will have an idea to pass along, but Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will interrupt and seem all territorial about planning the bachelorette event herself.

After Sally steps away for a phone call, Chelsea will call Audra out for being jealous and wonder what her beef is.

Audra will talk about watching Sally cry after Adam cheated with Cheslea and think it should be obvious.

Chelsea will argue that Audra isn’t a saint either, but Audra still won’t approve of Chelea’s bridesmaid status.

That said, Audra will be willing to put on a smile and pretend to get along with Chelsea, so that’s exactly what they’ll do in front of Sally.

Chelsea’s pitch will turn out to be wardrobe related since she’ll think Sally should carry an embroidered “bride” clutch for her bachelorette bash.

Audra will get in a dig about embroidery being “granny chic” before suggesting something more sparkly.

At the Newman ranch, Nick will face Victor, Adam and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) questions about where he was last night.

Nick will admit to arranging a fake score to set a trap for Joe, which led to things getting heated between them.

There’ll be some concerns when Nick shows off his bruised knuckles.

However, Nick will claim that he gave Detective Burrow a heads-up about the meeting.

The story will be that Nick pushed for Joe’s confession about selling Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) drugs, so Joe supposedly got “squirrely” and took off.

Nick will claim he took off as well before Burrow arrived and didn’t contact him afterward.

Adam will point out that Detective Burrow is looking for Nick and wants to speak in person.

The cops will show up at the ranch soon after, but Victor will instruct his men to claim Nick isn’t there and hasn’t been seen all day.

Nick will eventually get Burrow on the phone and ask when they can meet, so they’ll sit down together at Crimson Lights. After Nick repeats the story he gave his family, Detective Burrow will remain suspicious.

Burrow will let Nick know he’ll be in touch if he has more questions, but Nick will act like it falls on Burrow to stop Joe now.

Detective Burrow will warn Nick not to take matters into his own hands if he hasn’t already.

As Friday’s Y&R episode winds down, Nick will have a flashback of attacking Joe in an alley and leaving him looking lifeless on the ground.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick’s mess will lead to more problems, so stay tuned for any troubling news to come.
