The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that many fans are still wondering when Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) is going to make her way back to Genoa City.
Could Kristen Alderson be a contender when it comes time to recast Summer and finally bring her home?
Now that Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor are taking over head writing duties at Y&R, some cast changes could also be brewing.
It wouldn’t be surprising if O’Connor and Giddens moved forward with writing Summer’s return to GC.
Giddens follows Alderson on Instagram and could have a say in whether she gets the part.
We should also note that Alderson took part in a fun social media trend with Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra) in a recent Instagram story.
What if Alderson is perhaps already in talks to join Y&R as a Summer recast?
It’s a possibility worth considering now that Alderson is hanging out with Hope and potentially preparing for a daytime comeback.
Soap fans may recall that Kristen Alderson played Starr Manning on One Life to Live and General Hospital before ultimately playing Kiki Jerome on GH next.
Alderson actually auditioned for the part of Summer back when Y&R first decided to replace Hunter King in the role.
Allison Lanier scored the part after the show opted to go in a different direction, but a lot has changed since then.
This might be the perfect time to give Summer a totally fresh look and let Alderson put her own unique spin on the character.
Regardless, Summer is needed on canvas!
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) deserve to have their daughter back in town.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) might reunite with Summer romantically if she gets back in the mix as well, so we’ll see what happens down the road.
