The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers and updates for Monday, July 20, note that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is done with Genoa City, while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) makes a secret deal with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
The July 20 episode will pick up where the Friday, July 17, episode left off, as Matt will be in the Shadow Room, still bantering with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun), and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
Matt will insist that all he wanted to do was have a conversation with Sienna, while Noah will continue to accuse him of harassing his girlfriend.
Matt will be done with being viewed as a monster when all he wants to do is turn his life around.
Still, Nick will be more than happy to hear that Matt is leaving, and Sharon will even offer to help the man pack!
With that said, Matt also realizes that someone may have a problem with him leaving town – Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Nick will assure Matt that he can handle his father.
After Matt leaves the Shadow Room, Sienna will confirm that all Matt did was tell her all his regrets.
But Nick will be more concerned that Matt is just playing games with his declaration of leaving town.
Noah will be concerned, too, but Nick will tell him to focus on the Shadow Room and leave Matt to him.
This is when Sharon will approach Nick when they’re alone and ask for clarification of what he means by ‘getting rid’ of Matt, which is when Nick will promise he won’t do anything crazy. (Sure, Nick, sure!)
At Society, The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday’s show note that Adam will present Sally with a secret offer.
He’ll agree to buy Newman Media off her if she promises to keep it hush-hush.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will never agree to buy back what was ‘stolen’ from him, and as Spectra-Charles can’t afford a battle, he’ll believe this is the best for both parties.
Adam plans to tell Victor that he and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) finagled Newman Media off Sally, and as long as the redhead remains silent, it’ll be a win-win situation for everyone.
Speaking of Victor, he and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will talk about her bandages coming off, and the fact that she went to visit Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at the hospital the other day.
They’ll get into a little disagreement before Victor insists on changing the subject.
Nikki is on pins and needles, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens once those bandages do come off!
Y&R spoilers reveal that once Nikki goes to bed, Matt will storm in and tell Victor he’s leaving town.
Victor won’t be happy with the news and reminds him that if he does so, he’d be breaking their deal.
This means that Victor would withdraw his end of the bargain, and Matt could wind up in prison.
Matt leaves and reaches out to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), where he tells her about his exit plans.
The two meet at the GCAC when Phyllis tells him that she won’t allow him to go.
The Young and the Restless spoilers state that if anyone can convince Matt to stay in Genoa City, it’s Phyllis, so fans will need to continue watching the CBS soap to see what happens next!
