The Young and the Restless (Y&R) update for Monday, September 28, says that one crisis may finally be a thing of the past for the Newmans. Y&R fans will also see a new hiding spot along with a revived plot, so some excitement is on the way.
At the athletic club, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will bump into Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), who’ll be glad Billy decided to invite Jill Abbott (last played by Lauren Koslow) to the wedding.
Billy will make it clear that he did it for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) since she’s pushing for peace.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will pop up and float the idea of Cane joining forces with her to rebuild Arabesque, but then she’ll waffle about whether she’s serious or not.
In a private moment, Phyllis will confess that rather than teaming up to run the company, she’s more interested in striking a deal with Cane.
That deal will involve trying to purchase all the properties Cane bought when he first made his Genoa City comeback.
Cane will assume Phyllis is reviving his previous grand plan and that she wants to target all the important companies in town.
Next, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will spend some time together in a secret apartment rental, which will be the surprise he promised her.
At the Newman ranch, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will assure Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that he’s feeling energized now that he’s back at work.
Victor will get ready to break the news that Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) still around since Victoria said she saw him somewhere in town.
Before Victor has the chance, security will drag Matt in and leave Nick outraged.
Matt will rant about how he’ll never prove his redemption and will be looking forward to getting as far away from Genoa City as possible.
Since Matt plans on taking Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and her threat with him, he’ll act like he deserves praise for that.
Matt will think the best outcome here is for Patty to turn herself in once they’re settled somewhere out of town.
Nick will warn Matt to steer clear of Los Angeles because of Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and won’t ever want to see his face again.
If Nick does end up seeing Matt or hears about him going after his loved ones, then Matt’s going to pay the price.
Matt will remind Nick that he saved his life and will eventually urge him to look after Phyllis.
Nick will be sick of Matt’s stalling and will finally yell at him to get out.
This will be a legitimate goodbye as far as Matt’s concerned.
Victor and Nick will cling to hope that Matt actually means it once he finally departs.
Nick will also reflect on how hard it is to have kids that live so far away.
It’s different for Victor since he has his children there in town, so Nick will play up how well Victor knows all of them.
Of course, Victor doesn’t know Victoria all that well at the moment since she’s keeping some big secrets!
Victoria will stay quiet about those as she gets the latest Matt info at the ranch.
