The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that a big twist could be brewing depending on where the new co-head writers want to take an important storyline.
Sally Spectra-Abbott (Courtney Hope) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) think their baby girl is gone forever, but is there a chance Ava Spectra-Newman survived?
Adam’s obsession with Ruby Spectra-Abbott is partly driven by his grief over losing Ava.
Although Ava could never be replaced, it makes sense that Adam is drawn to the baby he helped deliver.
However, Adam’s relief over Ruby’s safe arrival doesn’t mean he’ll ever be over what happened to Ava.
Losing his own daughter was traumatic for Adam, so he’s got a hole in his heart that he’s trying to fill with Ruby on some level.
That’s not healthy and isn’t really going to work in the long run.
No matter how many times Adam visits Ruby and holds her, he’s always going to miss Ava and wish things had been different.
On social media, many Y&R fans have been complaining because they feel like Adam’s storyline was ultimately given to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Adam and Sally could’ve had a story that involved raising Ava, but we’re watching Sally and Billy raise Ruby instead.
Of course, there’s a soapy way to fix that! Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope could get some juicy material if an Ava survival twist comes into play down the road.
What if Adam and Sally’s daughter lived after all? Victor clearly doesn’t want Sally and Adam to be a couple, so maybe he tried to sabotage any hope for their future with a stolen baby plot.
It’s possible that Victor arranged for Ava to be secretly adopted by some trustworthy family.
Victor might be monitoring Ava from afar to make sure his granddaughter is safe, healthy and happy, even if she’s not in Adam’s life.
That’d be a horrible move on Victor’s part, but let’s face it: Victor has indeed done some horrible things over the years!
Victor may like to pretend he’s a doting dad and grandpa sometimes, but he can be pretty awful when he sinks to his lowest points.
Bottom line, Ava’s survival could stir up some excitement and lead to a family reunion with Adam as well as Sally.
Even if it doesn’t exactly line up with what viewers saw on-screen, it wouldn’t be the first time a story changed to deliver some great drama later.
