The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) could be cooking up a new plan to gain the upper hand on Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns).
Diane has been doing everything she can to play the part of cooperative patient and stroke Dr. Markham’s ego, but that’s not enough to ensure her freedom.
Dr. Markham has repeatedly insisted that Diane’s journey to healing will likely be a long process.
Although Dr. Markham seems pleased over Diane’s commitment to their therapy sessions, Diane has no way of knowing how long she’ll have to keep up this charade.
That’s probably why Diane has started pushing Dr. Markham to give her a sleeping pill prescription.
Diane got pretty forceful about her desire for those pills in Y&R’s June 25 episode, so it’s likely because she has a secret plan for them.
Diane assured Dr. Markham that she didn’t want to overdose and played up how she needs to sleep to be fully engaged in her therapy.
Although Dr. Markham has been reluctant to prescribe anything so far, he may cave in sooner or later and get Diane the sleeping pills she’s pleading for.
If Diane can get her hands on enough pills, she could potentially dissolve the contents into Dr. Markham’s drink when he’s not looking.
This might be a way for Diane to drug Dr. Markham and knock him out for a bit.
Diane might stand a better chance of finding an escape path if she was free to explore alone.
There might be some corner of the house that’s not as protected and could give Diane her best chance at making a break for it.
Whatever the case, Diane is definitely fighting hard for sleeping pills and may have an ulterior motive if she wants to drug Dr. Markham with some.
Diane seems willing to try just about anything to secure her path to freedom, so stay tuned to see how far she’ll go!
