The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) is married, but that won’t be the case for much longer if their legal split moves forward.
However, we have to consider whether Marie’s husband might come into play at some point.
Based on dialogue in the August 26 episode, Marie’s husband wants a divorce and has apparently become fed up enough to wash his hands of her.
Even so, it’s interesting that Marie has brought up this mysterious hubby of hers repeatedly.
That’s led to questions and speculation about this man’s identity on social media.
Is Marie married to someone fans might already know?
It’s possible that Marie’s husband will remain off-screen if he’s just a way to add to her giant list of problems.
Marie’s husband may only exist so he can leave her and add to the despair she’s struggling to overcome.
That said, it’s also possible that viewers will meet Marie’s husband sooner or later.
If that happens, he could be a new character or even someone fans might already recognize.
Some Y&R watchers have suggested that Marie’s hubby could be Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen), but that doesn’t really line up with the picture she’s been painting of her raging spouse.
Marie may be an out-of-control mess, but it doesn’t seem like her husband is a great guy either.
Burrow, on the other hand, is a respected detective who’s clearly a caring individual.
Plus, Detective Burrow was living in Los Angeles not too long ago, so he presumably isn’t the man Marie is married to.
Of course, Y&R could still bring back some blast-from-the-past character if they wanted a familiar face as Marie’s hubby.
It all depends on where the story goes from here and how important Marie’s husband will be moving forward.
The most likely options are probably for Marie’s husband to either remain off-screen or be someone viewers have never met before.

Could this guy wind up clashing with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) over Marie’s romantic future?
