The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is already starting to get frustrated with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) again, so their relationship could be in trouble.
Billy and Sally’s wedding plans could be in jeopardy, so let’s talk about whether their engagement will stick.
It’s clear that no matter how long Sally and Billy are together, they’re constantly going to be facing the same familiar problems.
Billy is impulsive, immature and has a one-track mind when it comes to Chancellor.
Sally wants to believe Billy is capable of putting their family above everything else.
That’s why Sally’s been looking forward to their nuptials and ultimately bringing their child into the world.
However, Billy always seems to backslide and resume bad habits.
There’s a negative pattern with Billy, who tends to pretend he’s all about a fresh start until something triggers his fixation and another downward spiral.
Y&R fans know Sally was supposed to keep a lid on Jill Abbott (Lauren Koslow) funding Abbott Communications, which eventually became Spectra-Charles Media.
Sally didn’t like the idea of keeping secrets from Billy, so she told him about Jill’s involvement anyway.
Of course, Billy didn’t have to go blabbing to Jill about Sally ratting her out!
Sally was understandably annoyed with Billy over that since rocking the boat could put Spectra-Charles Media in jeopardy.
Now Sally and Billy could have a new reason to clash since Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) offered him the head of research and development position at Chancellor.
Sally pushed Billy to think about this before making any snap decisions, but she definitely seems uncomfortable with the whole thing.
Sally may fear that if Billy gets his foot back in the Chancellor door, it can only end in disaster.
Billy tends to sabotage everything he touches, so it’s tough to believe this arrangement will work out well.
That’s especially true since Billy will uncover a secret that Jill’s keeping and use it against Cane as well as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Summer preview spoilers hint that Billy will unleash major drama for Lily and Cane, so that’s bound to affect Sally and leave her fearing the worst.
Sally might even go as far as calling off the wedding if she feels Billy’s Chancellor obsession has returned.
Maybe Sally could give Billy his engagement ring back – at least as a wake-up call about how much he stands to lose if he doesn’t work as a team with her again.
Sally will forever be tied to Billy through the baby that’s on the way, but that doesn’t mean she has to marry him.
That may be something Sally points out somewhere down the line when her engagement to Billy potentially starts to crumble.
