The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, July 2, reveal that more details may emerge regarding Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) post-op condition.
Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will also deal with some doubters while Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) considers a new chapter.
First on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will have another conversation with Nate about his history and the pain of leaving medicine behind.
After Nate injured his hand and couldn’t do surgery anymore, he eventually bailed on being a doctor altogether and ended up working at Winters.
Although Nate keeps insisting he wants to work in business with his family, Stephanie can tell that medicine is still his passion.
The harder Stephanie pushes, the more Nate may be willing to admit he longs to be a doctor again.
Stephanie may urge Nate to consider a job offer and a fresh start at Genoa City Memorial Hospital at some point.
Even if Nate can’t do surgery anymore, he can still work with patients and help them get better.
Speaking of patients getting better, Nikki’s surgeon managed to remove the mass that was pressing on her optic nerve.
However, things are still up in the air when it comes to Nikki’s eyesight and whether it’ll return following the procedure.
Nikki’s bandages might come off in Thursday’s show, so will she be able to see?
There’s a good chance Nikki will remain in the dark or perhaps only be able to see blurry shadows.
There’s no point in shutting down the drama of this storyline right away, especially when this ordeal is just starting to bring Nikki and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) back together.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) mentioned that it could be weeks before Nikki’s eyesight returns to normal if that happens at all.
It makes sense that Y&R will indeed have Nikki struggle to see for a few weeks until she gets the recovery she’s hoping for.
As for Victor, he’ll keep some things to himself. That could involve secrets about Victor’s Matt plans or even just hiding his emotions when it comes to Nikki.
Although Matt is going everything he can to prove himself to the Newmans and find redemption, he’ll face a couple roadblocks when it comes to Nick and Noah Newman (Lucas Adams).
Noah and Nick will stay on guard when it comes to Matt since they’re never going to fully trust him due to his disturbing past.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Matt will hope for more positive news sooner or later, but he’ll keep facing Newman naysayers for now.
