Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) loves Devon Winters (Bryton James) and wants to connect with him like they used to, but he keeps pulling away from her instead.
Devon is stuffing all his difficult emotions down when Abby wants him to open up and let her help.
Although Devon’s problems started after Dominic Winters’ (Ethan Ray Clark) kidnapping and Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) lenient sentence, Abby can tell his issues are deeper now.
It’s less about rage and more about depression at this point.
Despite Abby’s repeated attempts to get Devon to truly confide in her, her plans won’t work out like she hoped.
Devon and Abby’s relationship issues will get worse as a result, so Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will come to Abby’s rescue.
Some Y&R fans may recall that Abby and Daniel had romantic ties many years ago.
There’s a chance the show will allow Daniel and Abby to revisit that romantic connection as this storyline moves along.
Daniel has been trying to let go of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) in recent months, but he’s no doubt been dealing with some struggles of his own.
This could be an opportunity for Abby and Daniel to fight off some loneliness together.
Abby has a history of being a cheater, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising if she betrayed Devon with Daniel.
Although Abby would much rather get her marriage back on track, the emotional distance in her relationship may get worse and push her into Daniel’s arms.
That could push her into Daniel’s bed as well, so what happens if Abby indeed cheats and blows up her marriage even more?
