The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, September 3, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will cook up a risky scheme involving Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and a phony dangerous situation for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
At the GCAC, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will spot Phyllis, who’ll claim she hasn’t found Matt yet.
When Adam quizzes Phyllis about why she cares so much, Phyllis will hint that maybe she’s fallen in love with Matt.
At Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) rehab facility, Sharon will walk in on him playing cards with Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) as they joke around.
Sharon will meet Marie, so there’ll be some awkward tension.
Sharon will speak with Nick privately about her fears regarding Phyllis and what’ll happen if she actually finds Matt.
Y&R spoilers say Marie will rejoin Nick after Sharon exits, so she’ll tease Nick about his exes and admit she saw pity in Sharon’s eyes.
Adam will come along next, so Marie will once again make herself scarce.
That’ll give Adam a chance to spill news about Phyllis’ love for Matt, so Nick will hope the Newman security team can find Matt before she does.
At the Riverbank Motel, Phyllis will return to Matt and admit she lied to Adam about not knowing where he is.
Matt will question why Phyllis would do that, but she’ll feel like it’s important to keep his location hidden from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Phyllis will suggest they need a plan to make Matt look like a hero, so he’ll suggest maybe he could save her life in a restaurant.
Phyllis won’t think anyone would care and will add that everyone would know they were colluding.
Instead, Phyllis will feel like the situation has to hit closer to the Newmans.
As Phyllis mulls over the possibility of staging some accident, she’ll feel like they missed a golden opportunity when Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was blind.
Matt will point out that the security team is never far away from the Newmans anyway, so Phyllis will decide they should focus on Sharon.
Matt will get reassurance that Sharon won’t be in real danger and that he’ll save the day before things get out of hand.
Although Matt will worry about Phyllis’ risking her fragile friendship with Sharon and question whether this will really work, Phyllis will have total faith in her plan.
At the park café, Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will pop up and find Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) sitting at a table.
Mariah will invite Daniel to join her and acknowledge that she doesn’t blame him for growing closer to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) when she was pushing her wife away.
Since Daniel hasn’t talked to Tessa in a while and misses her, Mariah will urge him to give her a call and maybe even perform at The Shadow Room together.
Mariah will still want Daniel and Tessa to be friends, so Daniel will talk about taking things one step at a time.
Daniel will also hint about wanting to be bold and put himself back out there, so Mariah will think they should live full lives since Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) own life was cut short.
Afterward, Mariah will head to the coffeehouse, where she’ll find out about Sharon’s run-in with Marie at Nick’s clinic.
Mariah will also mention her desire to get back to work at Cassidy First.
On the patio, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will have a flirty conversation with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) regarding their Vibrante-Jabot feud and return the earring she left in the Jabot office.
Once Kyle leaves, he’ll end up coming back and will admit he’d like to see Victoria tonight.
Kyle will suggest meeting at the Riverbank Motel and will vow to text Victoria a room number, so she’ll get on board with the idea and smile as Kyle struts out.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle and Victoria will steam up their motel room soon enough, so stay tuned!
