The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, July 7, reveals that Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will have a chance to reunite with an unconscious Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but she’ll be facing some major legal drama.
Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will also realize that Jack’s survival poses a real problem, so here’s what Y&R viewers can look forward to.
At the police station, Diane will continue to defend her innocence to Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen), who’ll point out Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) is backing up Patty and claims Diane drugged him along with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Diane will insist Kyle had nothing to do with it and will assure Detective Burrow that she did what was necessary to escape since she was being held prisoner.
Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will serve as Diane’s attorney, but there’ll be concerns when Burrow hints at enough evidence to charge her with two counts of attempted murder.
Once Michael is alone with Diane, he’ll get an important question out of the way and ask if she did this to Jack.
Michael will believe Diane when she blames Patty and will plan to do whatever he can to help her.
At Diane’s off-screen arraignment, Michael will get her released on bail and pull some strings so she can rush over to see Jack at the hospital.
At the park café, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will meet with Jill Abbott (Lauren Koslow), who won’t hold Sally’s secret spillage against her now that she knows Sally blabbed to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) about her investment.
Instead, Jill will congratulate Sally on her baby and wedding plans before suggesting she’s a good influence on Billy.
Sally will point out that Billy still thinks Jill is keeping secrets about the reason for his Chancellor ouster, but Jill will deny hiding anything.
Although Jill was hoping Billy would join them, Sally will admit he’s not there because he received news about Jack being hospitalized.
At Genoa City Memorial Hospital, unconscious Jack will be out of surgery as Kyle visits his bedside.
Kyle will give Jack a pep talk and push him to wake up since he needs to get Diane out of trouble.
Although Patty missed Jack’s vital organs, he lost a lot of blood.
Kyle will fill Billy in on the whole situation once he arrives and admit it’s a waiting game when it comes to Jack regaining consciousness.
Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will also rush over and cry over seeing Jack like this.
There’ll be some talk about Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) coming home on the first flight from Paris as well.
Kyle, Billy and Traci will all fume over Patty putting Jack in this condition, so they’ll be determined to take her down and help Diane.
Speaking of Diane, she’ll finally make it to Jack’s hospital bed, where she’ll let him know that all that matters now is the love between them.
While Diane hopes Jack will awaken, Dr. Markham will talk to Detective Burrow about Diane being the dangerous one – not Patty.
Patty will meet with Dr. Markham later and face his complaints since her stabbing Jack wasn’t part of the plan.
Patty will blame Dr. Markham for letting Diane escape and will ultimately point out that it won’t go well for either one of them if Jack remains alive to spill the truth.
At the Newman ranch, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will ask Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) if Nikki can move back since her hospital release is imminent.
Victor will admit Nikki’s room has already been prepared, but he’ll insist on staying in a guest room.
Although Nikki will have to keep her eye bandages on for a week or two, Victoria and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will cling to hope that her sight will return.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and the others will ultimately help Nikki make her way into the house, where she’ll try to stay positive and will thank Victor for letting her come home.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki has more challenges ahead of her, so stick with the CBS soap.
