The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, June 2, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will throw Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for a loop – meanwhile, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) faces the horror of what he’s done.
At the Newman ranch, Phyllis will stop by looking for Nick to see how he’s doing.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will wind up having a surprisingly cordial conversation with Phyllis since he’ll be truly grateful she helped save Nick’s life.
At the new version of The Shadow Room, Matt will have another memory flood involving tons of menacing moments.
There’ll be flashbacks of Matt doing his worst to Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and all the Newmans, so he’ll be absolutely horrified.
That’ll catch Sienna, Nick, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) off guard since they expected Matt’s sinister side to return along with his memories.
Instead, Matt will panic as he repeatedly apologizes and will end up getting some comfort from Sienna.
Sienna will suggest calling Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen) over, but Nick won’t think Matt’s of any use to them like this.
After Nick drags Matt back to the ranch, Sienna, Sharon and Noah will debate what can be done about Matt now.
Sharon will assume Matt’s still going to prison because of what happened in Las Vegas, but Sienna will seem skeptical over whether this more vulnerable Matt can survive that.
In the gym at the Newman ranch, Matt will cry over how sorry he is and continue to weep alone after Nick leaves him there.
Matt will want all the awful memories to stop since he’ll remain appalled over who he used to be.
Once Nick speaks with Victor and explains what happened, he’ll hint that the Matt he was so desperate to get rid of may already be gone.
Victor will insist on handling Matt himself while Nick focuses on getting treatment, so he’ll head to the gym next.
That’s where Matt will acknowledge that he deserves to be punished and question whether redemption is possible.
Matt will admit he’d do himself in before he ever went back to being the man he was before.
Victor will seem skeptical, but Matt will vow to prove it if Victor lets him live.
Victor will realize Matt’s bargaining for his life, so Matt will cry about how he doesn’t want to hurt anybody anymore.
Matt will plead for a chance to make it up to all the Newmans and will ask Victor to just tell him what to do.
At the GCAC, Phyllis will be relieved to see Nick, who’ll be thankful for her role in saving him after his drug overdose.
Even so, Y&R spoilers say Nick will make it clear that Phyllis isn’t keeping Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis will point out that Nick gave his word that he’d drop the charges and let her keep the company if she delivered Matt.
Nick will suggest there’s a new plan that involves taking Phyllis down for harboring a fugitive if necessary.
Phyllis will protest since the Newmans are the ones harboring a fugitive now, but Nick will argue that they’re not the ones who paid to put Matt up in a hotel suite.
Nick will threaten to tell the Las Vegas PD that Phyllis is knowingly committing a crime.
Phyllis will rant about saving Nick’s life and fume as she realizes he’s betraying her.
At the park café, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will approach Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and let her know he heard about her engagement as well as the baby thanks to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Sally will realize all that news probably should’ve come from her and will quiz Adam about how he’s feeling about her pregnancy.
Adam will admit he’s sad that their daughter, Ava, isn’t there, but he won’t want that to diminish Sally’s joy over this gift.
Sally will admit she still dreams about Ava and that Adam is a good dad in those dreams.
Adam will feel certain that Sally is already a good mom to the baby that’s on the way, so they’ll have a cathartic discussion overall.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will remain protective of Sally’s impending bundle of joy, so that’ll lead to more problems with Billy.
