The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, September 29, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will continue to scheme and clarify what she wants from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will also get a stunning gift, but she’ll have an unexpected encounter with Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) first.
At the GCAC, Phyllis will be vague about her true motives for wanting Cane’s properties, so he’ll think he’s right about her wanting to use Arabesque to go after all the major players in town.
Phyllis will insist she’ll pay top dollar for those locations, including the office across from Newman Tower.
Cane will assume Phyllis wants to taunt Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but she’ll act like there’s a great hot dog stand nearby that she can’t resist.
Since Cane transferred ownership from Arabesque to himself shortly before the AI attack, Phyllis will think the properties should belong to her anyway.
Cane will marvel at Phyllis’ self-centered logic and refuse to give her an answer just yet on whether he’s willing to sell.
Once Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrives, he’ll spot Phyllis with Cane and immediately grow suspicious.
Phyllis and Nick will have a confrontation after Cane leaves, but Phyllis will act like she was just doing business and focusing on Arabesque like Nick wanted.
Nick will also confirm to Phyllis that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) left town after one final visit to the ranch.
At The Shadow Room, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) will order a club soda from Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) while she waits for Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) to meet her there.
That’ll give Daniel a chance to vent about his mom a bit before Phyllis shows up.
Phyllis will find out Danny is the new co-owner of the bar and get upset since she had to hear the news from Christine instead of Daniel.
Christine will take a few jabs at Phyllis before she gets Danny’s text about meeting her at the restaurant.
Once Christine exits, Daniel will eventually pull Phyllis into a hug and admit he’s glad she’s there.
Daniel will obviously be relieved over Phyllis staying in Genoa City instead of going with Matt.
Phyllis will be touched over Daniel’s embrace and will be determined to stick around to make this town hers.
At the ranch, Nikki will catch Victor getting off the phone in a hurry, so she’ll assume he’s up to something.
Victor will warn Nikki that she’ll ruin the surprise if she asks more questions, so she’ll leave him to scheme alone.
At Society, Diane will bump into Nikki, so they’ll get into an argument about whether Vibrante poses a real threat to Jabot.
Nikki will think this is really about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), so Diane will acknowledge that Nikki has never thought she was good enough for him.
Diane will also feel like Nikki constantly undermines their relationship, but Nikki will act like Diane’s insecurities are the real problem.
Diane will make it clear that Nikki had better be ready for the fight that’s brewing, but Nikki will act unbothered.
That said, Nikki will appreciate Victor’s distraction once she comes home to find that he’s ordered a custom charm bracelet for her, including a “V” for Vibrante and a crown since she’s the new queen of cosmetics.
As for Jack, Y&R spoilers say he’ll meet with Nick and extend an offer to be his sponsor.
Nick will get that Victor isn’t a fan of the idea, but he’ll vow to do things his own way and will indeed want to turn to Jack for support.
Later, Jack will meet up with Diane at home and hear about her run-in with Nikki.
Although Diane will be fired up about taking Nikki down, she’ll ultimately try to make it seem like she’s going to ignore their silly faceoff.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will inevitably make some bold moves against Nikki and Vibrante as this storyline moves along, so stay tuned.
