The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, August 19, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will come home to a suspicious shocker.
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will also have an interaction with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) that leaves him emotional, so there’ll be a lot happening on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.
After Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) debate all the Chancellor drama at the office, they’ll head to Society for a meal.
That’s also where Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will brainstorm with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), who’ll offer to get his hands dirty in this fight against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and let her keep her own hands clean.
Lily will insist she’s perfectly fine with getting her hands dirty, too.
Cane will point out that the Abbotts aren’t going to help Billy, but they aren’t going to try to rein him in either.
There’ll also be some talk about how Jack will come after them if John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) name and reputation take a hit.
Lily won’t want to provoke the Abbott clan, but she’ll make it clear that she’s willing to do whatever needs to be done to protect Chancellor.
Once Jack and Kyle pop up in the restaurant, they’ll head over to Cane and Lily’s table.
Jack will be sorry for what Lily’s going through, but she’ll snap about how he’s not sorry enough to stop Billy.
After Jack makes it clear that his priority is de-escalation, Lily will acknowledge that he’s loyal to his brother.
Lily will note that she’s loyal to Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and suggest that’s why she’s standing her ground along with Cane.
At Crimson Lights, Matt will startle Sharon when he pops up looking for the latest news on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Sharon won’t get why Matt is sticking around where so many people don’t want him there.
Matt will point out that he’s staying in town for his job and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), but he’ll also want to make amends.
Sharon will play shrink a bit and determine that Matt must feel stuck trying to seek absolution.
Matt will break down in tears and admit he’d at least like to have Sharon and Nick’s forgiveness.
Sharon will suggest that’s a big ask and wonder if maybe Matt could just forgive himself instead.
That way, Matt could leave town, go somewhere else and not be viewed as a monster.
In the end, Matt will insist that he wants to stay in Genoa City on his forgiveness mission.
It could take days, weeks, months, years or maybe not happen at all, but Matt will plan to prove himself.
At the GCAC, Audra will find Billy celebrating with a drink, so he’ll gloat about the Abbotts owning Chancellor and how he’ll be in charge as early as next week.
Audra will seem skeptical and will worry about Sally’s reaction, but she’ll ultimately order Champagne for them both and join in the celebration.
After Audra suggests they should trust each other not to hurt Sally, Billy will end up toasting with her over their new friendship.
Sally will return from her trip and look suspicious as she sees Billy’s cozy interaction with Audra.
At the Newman ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will surprise Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) with a Venice-themed evening, including a book of love poems and some sweet comments in Italian.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor and Nikki will enjoy being back on track in their romance, so don’t miss what’s in store.
