The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of August 17-21 reveal that fans will see some vengeful key players, intense connections and huge challenges in the coming episodes.
Let’s talk about which couples and characters will be affected by what’s in store.
First, Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) return to rehab will come with more struggles, but he’ll be more committed to his recovery this time around.
Following Marie Kirkland’s (Jade Harlow) overdose and hospitalization, she may join Nick in rehab and realize he was right about something needing to change.
Marie will ultimately want a better life for herself as well, so she’ll take steps toward a clean slate.
Over with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), his own attempt at a fresh start will continue to cause problems.
Matt and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may heat things up in their romance while rebuilding Arabesque on a professional level, but what about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) revenge?
Y&R fans know Victor isn’t someone who tends to let grudges go, so he’ll no doubt target Matt and Phyllis since they haven’t played by his rules.
As for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), he’ll move forward with his attempt to get back into medicine.
Nate will need to meet with the orthopedic surgeon that Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) recommended and see if his hand repair is truly a possibility.
Nate should get the greenlight, which will likely lead to him going through with the procedure and rejoining the hospital staff eventually.
Now that Nate is reviving his medical career and Devon Winters (Bryton James) is going to create a liberal arts college in Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) name, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will have to handle things at Winters herself.
Will Lily end up in over her head due to the extra workload that’s brewing?
Regardless, Lily and Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will get stressed over work-related drama in the coming episodes thanks to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and his obsessive need to uncover Jill Abbott’s (last played by Lauren Koslow) Chancellor secret.
Once Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) returns from her trip, she may come home to find Billy spiraling out of control due to his fixation on uncovering the whole truth.
More fights could be brewing between Billy and Sally, so that could affect their wedding and baby planning.
Next, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will strengthen their connection.
Kyle and Victoria’s attraction is growing, so it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes them to have their first kiss and perhaps more.
Finally, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) will put on a special performance for Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell), who’ll love the new song he’s cooked up for her.
