The Young and the Restless (Y&R) preview video for the week of July 27-31 reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will pitch in on granting Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) his freedom.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will also extend an invitation to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) that could lead to some passion erupting between them.
Y&R’s weekly promo kicks off with Cane flirting with Lily and confirms that the penthouse set is back.
It looks like things could be heating up between Cane and Lily soon enough.
Cane will note that Lily made him CEO of Chancellor and then invited him over, so he’ll crack a joke about her starting to like him.
Lily will smile in response, so these two could end up hitting the sheets before the night’s over.
Meanwhile, Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) will deal with more struggles in her marriage to Devon Winters (Bryton James).
Although Abby will try to get Devon to open up about his problems, pushing too hard could make things worse right now.
Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will come along and find Abby upset at Society, where he’ll decide she looks like she could use a friend.
After Daniel asks if Abby would settle for him, she may indeed make him her confidant.
In Phyllis’ suite, she’ll get to work on a mission that could help Matt break free of the Newmans.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been forcing Matt to wear an ankle monitor, but Phyllis will help him remove it soon enough.
“We did it. We got it off. You’re free as a bird,” Phyllis tells Matt with a smile in the weekly preview clip.
Of course, this plan could backfire since Victor will inevitably find out and blow his top over Matt defying his orders.
Phyllis could land in hot water as well now that she is Matt’s loyal ally.
Matt and Phyllis could also become lovers soon if they make out again and no one pumps the brakes this time around.
Phyllis and Matt could wind up in bed together, especially since we know Matt’s sticking around.
Behind-the-scenes info points to Matt having scenes at Crimson Lights in August, so he may decide Phyllis is right about staying in town and embracing her job opportunity.
Phyllis may think they should celebrate the good news and not care what anyone else thinks.
