In tonight’s Watson series finale, Watson believed that seeing Sherlock Holmes was merely a result of a traumatic brain injury. He was a hallucination. Watson often spoke to him and he soon realized he was speaking to himself, However, Sherlock wasn’t as dead as Watson feared. He was admitted into UHOP.
He doesn’t know his name or how he got there, He was feverish. He was stumbling. He didn’t recognize anyone. He looked Shinwell in the eye and didn’t know that one of his closest friends. Things were bad. Shinwell knew they were bad so he texted Watson.
Watson was the one man that Sherlock will always trust. No matter what state he’s in. It was just really great to know that it wasn’t all a hallucination because Sherlock was alive and so Watson put him first. He did what he always does with Sherlock. He put him first by checking out of the hospital.
Watson still had a tumor in his brain. He was supposed to get treatment for it. Its why Mary drove him all the way to Baltimore. She wanted him to get treated and instead Watson left the hospital in the middle of the night with no warning.
He didn’t even tell his doctor. He wrote a note saying sorry on the whiteboard before heading back to UHOP. Mary was left behind and she cleared things up. She spoke to Dr. Niles.
She got him to come to their hospital for Watson’s surgery. Watson hadn’t bother to ask how she did it. He was more focused on the why. Mary was leaving Pittsburgh. She was moving because of her boyfriend’s job. She was leaving the hospital. She wanted to make sure that Watson was settled before she left. And she couldn’t do that if he didn’t stay still.
Sherlock coming back proved to be an ill omen. Sure, it was great to see his best friend again but the threats and the deaths that followed weren’t worth it.
There was a oncology nurse killed the morning after Sherlock showed up. Sherlock didn’t do it. It was a sniper that killed her right in front of the hospital. The sniper soon revealed himself to Watson.
His name is Sebastian Moran. He was trying to take over after Professor Moriarty’s death. He’s been using Sherlock as the brains of his operation since he took control of him after the fall. Now, he wants Watson to fix Sherlock because Sherlock was really sick.
Moran seemed to have used Sherlock’s illness to his advantage. He maintained control. He got Sherlock to work in his operation and then Sherlock kept getting sicker. Moran didn’t know what it was. He needed to find out. Then he needed Sherlock returned to him like a broken accessory he had fixed.
Moran was cruel. He showed Watson surveillance photos of Mary. He demanded that Watson stay on the case to fix Sherlock or he was going to kill more people. Watson had no choice in the matter.
Watson informed Shinwell. He also talked to Sherlock. After a few hours in the hospital, Sherlock was looking better. He still wasn’t diagnosed with the proper condition only he now knows who Watson is. Who Shinwell is. Sherlock has several episodes. Then again so did Watson.
Watson began having seizures. They were both studied. They were both trying to figure out how bad things are. Watson was able to get back on his feet after his first seizure. He had to find out what was wrong with Sherlock before he could get treated.
Watson did some tests. It showed amazing things. He was about to share it with the team when he had another seizure. Luckily, the text he sent still got out. The team arrived to find him on the floor. They intubated him. He was under for a while before waking up. He woke up to see Sherlock there.
They took his clues and found out what was wrong with Sherlock. He has CTX. It was a late in life condition that Sherlock was deemed a mutant for. They removed the tube from Watson’s throat. He was able to talk so he promised to fight for them.
He had the surgery to remove the tumor. He also had Shinwell take care of Moran. Shinwell found out about this missing couple he was looking for from Moran.
He did it by punching out teeth and once he got his answer – he called for Detective Lestrande. The same detective that pretty much figured out that Ingrid killed Beck in cold blood. She just can’t prove it. Not even with Beck’s hidden cameras.
And after Watson’s surgery – he saw himself going home to 221 Baker Street to Mary. Was it hallucination or their future? One can never tell with Watson much less a recently sick Watson.
THE END!
