In tonight’s Welcome to Plathville episode, Kim was taking a lot of responsibility over what happened in the past. Yes, one of her children mentioned the death of their brother. Kim accidentally ran over one of her sons and she’s lived with this guilt for so long. It was killing. She was especially angry with herself for just shutting down on everyone.

She was so worried about the pain she caused everyone else that now with Lydia saying she can’t talk to her hurts. Kim was getting into a better place. She wanted to be able to talk to the kids about their trauma. And she was finding out it might be too late to talk.

Kim was hurt by what Lydia said. She went to a therapist. The therapist was reaffirming that it was never too late to work on the relationship. Kim hadn’t wanted to talk about her son’s death before because she never got over it herself. Now, she was learning that neither did anyone else.

It also doesn’t help that Zac seemed to be pushing for more of a divide rather than reconciliation. He was pushing everyone’s buttons lately. He was asking questions of Ethan and its like why? Ethan never hid the part that he doesn’t like him.

Ethan tolerates Zac for Lydia’s benefit. That same toleration doesn’t exactly extend that far to open up about his relationship. He hadn’t even talked to his brothers at the time and they were his confidants.

It wasn’t Zac. Zac has created other issues. He likes to tell everyone how to parent their children. He had a lot of opinions about that. He also expressed them to the kids whenever they visit their siblings. Moriah apparently acted too ungodly for him. Kim and Barry let the younger ones watch too much of the wrong television.

Kim was getting tired of it. She also wanted to openly talk about Joshua. She wanted to have conversations and it was her sons who turned it into an intervention.

Ethan invited Teegan because she’s involved too. Zac has told Ethan that perhaps Teegan wasn’t right for him. She was a single mother. He judges everyone with his religious stance and he has no clue what he’s talking about. He’s not a father. Not yet at least.

Kim invited everyone to her home. She invited people under the guise of talking about Joshua. It’s what Barry was told. The same goes for Zac and Lydia. They came expecting to final heal. To be fair to Kim, she did bring up Joshua first. She said they should talk about the issues and hopefully sign off on the bench that her younger son Isaac built. Isaac was going to fire-write it into the bench. All that he asks was that it’d be immediate family that honor Joshua that way because they were the ones that knew him. The others were merely told stories about him.

Then it moved into intervention. Moriah actually talked Zac before because he sat down to tell her what she did wrong. They visited her in Montana with the younger girls. Zac had a problem with alcohol being in the house. With Moriah drinking in front of the kids. He had an issue about everything and basically gave Moriah a list. Amber later tried to tell him that wasn’t his place. He married into the family. He should’ve told Lydia and Lydia might have address the bigger concerns. And she wouldn’t have been so judgmental about it.

Or at least she wouldn’t have before Zac. Kim can’t stand his nonstop condemnation. He even tried to push his way into Kim and Barry’s divorce. Kim would later bring up. She felt it was uncomfortable. She asked Lydia if they can talk about Joshua right there. Only Lydia didn’t want to. Lydia mentioned in her confessional that she let everything out in her safe place and that place is Zac. The one thing she agreed to was to not publicly discuss Joshua. It should remain between family members rather be opened to a public forum.

Lydia could agree to that, but she soon got tired when Ethan began to talk. Ethan mentioned the unresolved problems between him and Zac that they should hash out. He also went as far to mention that he’s heard over conflicts that Zac started. Maybe because they were in a group that’s why Zac didn’t take it well. He felt like he was being painted as the villain. He and Lydia hated that and they hated this constant confrontation between her brothers and Zac.

Lydia sided with her husband before they got married and she sides with him. Meaning Zac has no reason to change behavior because he believes Lydia agrees with him. And that she just can’t say it to her family.

THE END!
