General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap star is speaking out on his character’s villainous turn. GH fans know Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has rejoined the dark side. It’s nothing new since Heinrik came on the scene as a shady character, but it’s certainly a departure from the redeemed version GH was trying to sell.
In a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, Ramsey opened up about dark Peter and what he thinks of him. He talked about the latest plot twists and offered some hints about what’s next. For starters, how did Ramsey feel about taking his character down a dark road again? If you think he was bothered by it, think again! It turns out Ramsey was completely on board since it gave him something to sink his teeth into.
Ramsey called it “thrilling” and assured General Hospital fans he was eager to sell it. He added, “This character was introduced in such an intense way after hiding in plain sight and I think that there’s still a lot of mystery within that dark side that really makes for great story! I enjoy exploring the power as well as the internal conflict between his past and present identities.”
Ramsey also mentioned how wonderful it is to work with Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio). They get along great and have been enjoying playing up their characters’ depth. Ramsey suggested that Peter isn’t too worried about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) at this point. Even if Valentin figured out the extent of what Peter’s up to, Ramsey seems to think their twisted bond would protect him.
Plus, Valentin’s keeping far too many secrets of his own to judge Peter. He’s got far bigger problems, so we’d say Peter’s main threats are probably Robert, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Naturally, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) could be a bit of a problem, too. She’ll develop more suspicions along the way, which could spell trouble for Peter.
Ramsey didn’t reveal how things would turn out with Maxie, but it’s pretty easy to see their romance is headed for disaster! Even so, Ramsey’s enjoying this wild ride. He admitted he loved his character’s complex reality along with the “excitement, inspiration and challenging fun as an actor.”
