The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Monday, December 21 – Billy’s New Orleans Getaway Fail – Summer’s Panicked Discovery

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, December 21, teases that some good news is on the way. At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) reveals that he no longer has a court date. The judge dropped all the charges thanks to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

On the Crimson Lights patio, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) bumps into Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), who assumes Sally will spend some time back in LA for the holidays.

Sally admits her aunt is in the tropics and Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck) is out of the country, too. She intends to keep busy with work, but Jack notes that he knows from experience the importance of family.

Jack doesn’t want Sally to realize too late that she should’ve spent time with her loved ones. He’s sure Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) would be thrilled to let Sally have time off. “Yeah, I can’t,” Sally insists. Jack looks rather puzzled by Sally’s insistence on Monday’s Young and the Restless episode.

In the main dining area, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) discuss their upcoming wedding on New Year’s Eve. Rey wants Sharon to have a special Christmas Eve, too. Sharon’s certain it will be since her health is back on track and she’s with the man she loves. There’s no greater gift.

In Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) suite at The Grand Phoenix, Summer Newman (Hunter King) talks about how much fun the joint Jabot and Fenmore’s Christmas party will be. Summer also thanks Kyle for her recent birthday dinner. When Summer checks out Kyle’s tie, she says something’s missing.

Kyle wonders what it is, so Summer admits it’s his tie clip. She really loves it since it has the jewel from Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) necklace, which represents all the Abbotts finding true love.

Summer thinks it’s romantic and starts trying to find it, but Kyle seems flustered and admits it’s not there. He claims he took it to the jeweler’s for cleaning.

Back at the coffeehouse, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) tells Sharon that she’s going skating with her friends later than planned. Sharon offers to sit down and catch up with Faith, but she just wants to grab a brownie and listen to some music.

On the patio again, Sally clarifies to Jack that she told Coco she’d be working, so her sister already made her own plans. Jack notes that if Sally finds herself alone on Christmas Eve, she’s welcome to drop by the Abbott house for some holiday cheer and eggnog.

Sally thanks Jack for the offer on Monday’s Y&R episode, but she doesn’t want to impose. Jack thinks Sally would fit right and says to drop on by if she changes her mind. “Maybe I will,” Sally says. “I hope you do,” Jack replies.

Back with Lily, she assures Billy that she wasn’t going to let him be framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Billy wasn’t allowed to see Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) for legal reasons, but he wanted to look in her eyes and get some answers.

Lily doesn’t think Billy would’ve gotten them, but everything worked out in the end.

Billy hints at a surprise spectacular dinner, so Lily’s intrigued. Suddenly, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) calls and asks if he can come see the kids at her office. Billy tells Lily he’s going to see a couple of “pint-sized VIPs who want a hug from Daddy.”

At Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) apartment, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) brings his sister a gift – though she’s not allowed to open it until Christmas. Lola jokingly gripes about all Rey’s holiday rules.

Lola has good memories of Christmas since it was the one day when Rey and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) would set aside their differences.

Rey is glad Arturo is coming to the “Shey” wedding, but he hopes they can keep the peace at the celebration. Lola feels confident they can – and she can always mention her own wedding to distract Arturo if need be.

Lola’s glad Rey has found his person. She thinks if someone’s going to come into her own life, it’ll happen. If not, that’s OK, too. Rey has faith that when the time comes, Lola will find someone to bring her the same kind of happiness he’s found.

At Crimson Lights again, Jordan (Madison Thompson) shows up and exchanges pleasantries with Sharon, who steps away. Faith was afraid Jordan was ghosting her – and Jordan admit the radio silence was her fault.

Jordan thought it might make things easier because “those mean girls” started targeting her, too. Jordan admits it’s because she’s friends with Faith, but she’ll choose Faith over them any day.

Next, Faith tells Sharon that she wants to go to lunch with Jordan at Society. Sharon says to put it on the tab since she’s stopping by later with Rey to talk to Lola about food for the wedding anyway.

Sally comes back for her scarf and spots Sharon, so Sally introduces herself. She hopes they can get to know each other better. Sharon mentions that addition to the holiday craziness, she has a New Year’s Eve wedding coming up.

Billy shows up at Newman Enterprises and reassures Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) as well as Katie Abbott (Sienni Mercuri). He explains that someone did something bad and blamed it one him.

“That’s mean!” Katie exclaims. Billy says Katie’s right, but he’s lucky because he had a “superhero” who helped the police department find out the truth.

Billy promises he’ll be there for Christmas and gives the kids some candy canes. He steps aside with Victoria and talks about the dream he had behind bars. Billy got a glimpse of what the future could be – and it wasn’t good. Victoria gets confirmation that Billy’s coming over early on Christmas morning.

However, Billy does admit he’s going out of town for one night. “What could be so important that it can’t wait?” Victoria wonders. Billy alludes to a personal matter, so Victoria assumes this is about his co-CEO.

Victoria’s not blind and can see the connection developing, but she’s concerned about this vacation so close to the holidays.

Billy insists it’s more like a mini getaway and feels it’s important to show his gratitude. Victoria notes that it’s understandable that this experience brought Lily and Billy closer. “And does that bother you?” Billy wonders.

Victoria says of course not. She likes Lily, but Billy suggests that doesn’t mean Victoria likes the idea of them dating. Victoria’s glad to see Billy’s pulling his life together – though she feels like she’s said that a few times at least.

Billy delivers an apology for everything he’s put Victoria through in the past. Victoria just wants Billy to take it slow since Lily may not be prepared for what a relationship with Billy will bring. She’s looking out for Lily’s best interests, too.

Victoria hints that there could be complications at work, but Billy doesn’t think so. He contends that Lily has the same passions as him.

At Jabot, Summer interrupts when Kyle’s talking to Jack about his gift for Summer. Jack fibs that they were discussing something else and excuses himself. Once Kyle and Summer are alone, Kyle notices that Summer’s infinity necklace is missing.

He offers to take it in for a cleaning, but Summer claims she lost it. She stammers and cuts the conversation short, leaving Kyle looking pensive.

Lola spots Faith with Jordan at Society, so Faith introduces them. Once Jordan gushes to Lola about the food there, Lola promises she’ll give them something extra. Jordan talks to Faith about the bullies, who must be seriously jealous.

Faith doesn’t think so, but Jordan promises that Faith is just as cool as they are despite being younger. “They know it, I know it and you’re about to prove it,” Jordan says.

Jordan intends to distract Lola while Faith steals a bottle of vodka from behind the bar and puts it in her purse. Faith doesn’t get why she’d want to do that, but Jordan thinks it’ll prove to those mean girls that they’re the losers – stuck home sending petty texts while they drink diet soda.

Jordan says it’ll show her that Faith is fearful and awesome. “You got this,” Jordan insists. Faith goes near the bar and looks nervous as Sharon and Rey approach Society’s door. Faith looks anxious as she sits back down at her table. Sharon and Rey walk over before Jordan rejoins them all.

After a little chat, Sharon steps away with Rey while Jordan tells Faith she knew it’d be easy. Faith begs Jordan not to be mad at her, but she admits she couldn’t do it. Jordan looks disappointed over Faith not having the guts.

On the coffeehouse patio, Sally leaves Coco a voicemail and admits she’s sorry they can’t be together for the holidays. Things aren’t progressing as fast in Genoa City as Sally would like. Summer is marking her territory, but Sally knows how to deal with women who aren’t used to fighting for what they want.

Sally adds that Summer’s boyfriend is a “hottie” and smart, but she has a strategy to handle him, too. Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) has been nothing but supportive, but Sally knows there’s a limit.

“And then there’s Jack Abbott,” Sally says. “Genuinely nice, strong…but not someone I want to cross, so I’m definitely going to have to look out for him. For more reasons than one.”

Back at Jabot, Summer talks about stopping by the jeweler’s and finding out the stone from the tie clip is missing. Kyle says he didn’t want to tell anyone – that he was just going to replace it. Summer flips out about it not being the same since it won’t be from be Dina’s necklace, and there’ll be no legend surrounding it.

“What about your grandma’s wish for you to find true love?” Summer asks. She can’t believe this! Kyle pretends to be all somber about it, but he smirks when Summer isn’t looking. Clearly, Kyle has plans to give that stone to Summer.

Jack makes it back to the Abbott mansion and reminisces about showing Dina old ornaments – including a little bird ornament that only Dina was allowed to hang. Meanwhile, Billy confirms by phone that the Chancellor jet is available tonight. He tells the person on the phone there’ll be two passengers.

Billy finds Lily and updates her on the chariot that awaits. He explains that they’re taking a private plane to New Orleans for dinner tonight. There’s a “hotter than hot restaurant with a six-month waiting list,” but he pulled some strings.

Lily thinks this is over the top, but Billy insists it’ll never be enough to repay her. He won’t let Lily down and is really hopeful about the future.

Suddenly, Billy gets a call from Victoria. She’s so glad she caught Billy and says Johnny overheard that his dad was going out of town. Johnny looks fine behind Victoria, but she claims he’s having a really hard time with the news and worries Daddy won’t be home for Christmas.

Billy gets Victoria to put Johnny on speakerphone and offers the kid plenty of reassurance. He hangs up and lets Billy know it’s all good, but she insists there’s no way they’re going anyway.

By the kitchen at Society, Sharon says she’s been worried about Faith – though she’s glad Faith has a friend to cheer her up. Rey says this will be their last Christmas as single people, so Sharon looks forward to many Christmases as a married couple.

“Until we’re old and grey,” Rey insists. They declare love until Lola hurries them along for wedding menu planning.
