General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Troy Lennon Appel is set to make his GH debut as Hudson on July 30, so it won’t be long until this mysterious businessman first appears.
With that in mind, we should discuss some new information about the character and who he might be hunting when he first pops up in Port Charles.
GH Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte spoke with SOD about some of the new faces that’ll be arriving soon.
Since Troy Lennon Appel’s character is one of those faces, the head writing duo shared details on his upcoming arrival.
“A mysterious stranger will hit the town as July comes to a close,” Korte and Van Etten teased.
“Hudson is hot on the trail of a certain Port Charles resident, and nothing and no one will stop him from getting what he wants.”
Although Van Etten and Korte didn’t elaborate on who exactly Hudson will be targeting, there’s a good chance it’ll be Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean).
Ethan ran into some trouble on a job before he came back to Port Charles, so that trouble is about to catch up with him.
Summer preview spoilers indicate that someone from Ethan’s history will indeed show up in Port Charles, so he’ll be spooked enough to go on the run.
Hudson might be someone Ethan crossed or swindled out of money during his last scam.
Then again, it’s possible Hudson is working for someone else – perhaps the next major villain in the works now that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) is dead and Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) time on the show is seemingly winding down.
Hudson’s boss might be the one who’s really looking for Ethan and counting on Hudson to track him down.
Whatever the case, we know Ethan stole evidence from a cold case box at the PCPD and used it instead of his own DNA sample.
That allowed Ethan to make it look like he was Phoebe’s (Luna and Lucia Creighton) father for the adoption-related DNA test.
The fact that the DNA was connected to a cold case in Port Charles is interesting and perhaps implies that Phoebe’s father was tied to PC once upon a time.
Hudson might be an option if there’s some rewrite that connects him to an old crime, but it’s also possible Phoebe’s father is another blast-from the-past character who employees Hudson.
We should note that Troy Lennon Appel is on contract as Hudson, so he may find good reasons to stick around regardless of how things turn out with Ethan.
