Alex is posing for photos to be the hospital’s “brand ambassador” to promote the hospital to buyers. Jo asks him what that means and he doesn’t know. They go into the living room where Jackson and Stephanie are getting busy, go back to the kitchen where they hear Cristina and Owen going at it upstairs. Jo starts making animal howls and Alex joins in. Steph and Jackson come in to stare at them.

Alex insists to Mer and Cristina that he and Jo are not a thing. They all tease him. April overhears and asks when romance died. She rants a little and they stare. She leaves.

April and her EMT are sitting in the ambulance chatting. He gets an emergency calls while she laments the loss of their ER. She wants to be a trauma surgeon so she needs an ER.

Alex is being stalked by publicity people snapping photos. Stephanie is horrified that Alex seems to have paparazzi. They come to see a baby whose intestines were outside her body when she was born. Alex tells the mom today is the day they’ll be put back in and the mom hugs him gleefully while the crazy photog snaps away and then asks the mom to sign a release. Alex chews her out and tells her these are sick kids, not photo ops. He tells her to wait in the hall.

Jackson is in the patient room having photos taken and Alex realizes that’s his competition to be brand ambassador. Hmm. I smell a pissing contest about to commence between those two alpha males! The PR guys are chatting with a transgender patient and his/her boy/girlfriend that Alex introduced to each other.

The PR chick says Alex changed his life and Jackson says he’s the one who’s changing it today. He’s unbreasting the girl today. Stephanie and Jo make a wager over their choice for brand ambassador. Jo wants Alex to get it and Steph wants Jackson.

Mer is lamenting the new digital system on tablets that keeps deleting patients. Jackson and Alex talk about them vying for brand ambassador and Mer wants to know why no women are in the running. Cristina says she was but turned it down.

Alana is bragging on the new patient system to a room of eye rolls. Bailey, Derek, Callie and Richard are discussing how they’ve been told to behave around the buyers. Callie said they need to rise up and do something and Bailey says they’ve done enough. Hmm… Think she’s made that their mega-settlement has landed Seattle Grace in financial straits? Callie says the new people are going to destroy the place and Richard agrees.

The PR chick is talking to Alex who is saying how important his Africa program is. Meanwhile, transgender girl’s dad is chewing out his daughter’s girl/boyfriend and accusing her of talking his daughter into the surgery. She insists it was his idea. The dad then turns on Alex, slams him against the wall and asks if he’s the one who wants to hack his daughter into pieces.

Callie and Richard look at Pegasus – the company that wants to buy them – turns out they’ve bought a ton of other hospitals. Arizona says to chill out because there’s nothing they can do about it. Richard proposes he and Callie take a road trip.

The dad apologizes to Alex who sends the police packing. He says he just found out about the surgery just last night in an email. The daughter comes in and wants to know why he’s there.

Callie and Richard come to a hospital and make up fake names, complaining that her husband Julio (aka Richard) has chest pains.

In the skills lab, Jackson is teaching and putting on a little PR show when Jo goes on the offensive and asks him about butt lifts and lypo. Steph fights back on his behalf.

April calls in to Jackson and tells him they’ve got a hit and run teenager who won’t live to make it to the hospital the ambulance has been told to take him to. She asks him to help the kid out.

Owen is leading the buyers on a tour when Jackson comes and asks him to let them treat the injured kid. Both Owen and Alana refuse and tell him to reroute the kid to the other trauma center.

In the other hospital ER, Callie and Richard (aka Julio) are getting excellent service until the ER doctor asks a question Callie doesn’t like. He’s trying to use the same tablet Mer didn’t like and it’s crashing. Richard tells him to take his time and he says he can’t because he can only spend 15 minutes with him. On the good side, they got waited on right away.

At the hospital, Jackson and Steph are preparing to secretly treat the kid while Jo stands guard.

The transgender girl is arguing with her Dad who doesn’t want to rush the surgery. His girlfriend says Ryan (the girl who wants to be a boy) is dying inside. He snaps at Rihanna (the boy who wants to be a girl) and his daughter orders him out.
Cristina joins in on the kid rescue and brought interns to guard doors. They post guards. Problem is the ER door won’t open – six doctors pry the doors open and they get the kid in. The docs are scrambling to find equipment they need in the stripped out ER. Steph is distracting the PR people from asking where Alex and Jackson are.

All of the docs are working on the kid. They need a med calculation but none of them know how to do the calculation. Jo runs it. Derek comes in and volunteers to get the meds the kid needs.

Callie and Richard are lurking around the hospital spying on stuff. They get coffee and decide to stroll around casually looking things over. Richard tells some doctors that he and Callie are with Pegasus and are looking for feedback.

The tour group comes by and Derek hears Alana saying she’s going to show them the new hernia clinic – uh oh – that’s where the ER is. Derek hijacks the tour group. Jo goes down and tells them they have to move the kid. Alana takes the group back over and takes them down. Derek says he’ll go along. They’re trying to move the kid who is coding. Derek tries to stop them from going on, but the docs and wounded kid have cleared out!

The docs unload a ton of criticism on Richard and Callie about how difficult it is working for Pegasus. It’s all going well until their ortho guy comes up and recognizes her. She has to pretend she’s quit practicing and gone to work for the supergroup. All of the docs say they think the walls have hears and that criticism is not well received.

The PR people are waiting to see the transgender surgery when Alex and Jackson rush in straight from the secret trauma. They scrub and head in. Meanwhile in the hernia clinic, Alana spots a drop of blood. She smears it with her show to confirm. She is not happy. She asks Derek to take over the tour and excuses herself. Uh-oh!

[10:00:28 PM] Rachel Rowan: The ortho guy is telling about his photo ops he does for Pegasus. They are not so impressed with him. He asks if he can tell them something he doesn’t want Pegasus to know. They tell him they’ll keep mum and he asks if there’s an ortho job at Seattle Grace.

In surgery, Jackson and Alex are each saying they don’t want to be brand ambassador. Alana busts in and asks who they’re operating on and they tell her the transgender patient – which it is. Owen is right behind her asking them what they’ve done.

Cristina and Mer are the ones operating on the kid when Alana and Owen bust in. They want to know who the patient is and Mer says she can pull it up because he’s her patient. She takes the tablet and starts to look it up. The patient file deleted error comes up (the one they were complaining about) and Mer says whoops – the system deleted the file.

Alana and Owen are grilling all the doctors to get a confession. Alex marches in and cops to it and Jackson follows. Owen tells them to go and Alana wants to know why he’s not disciplining them. Derek comes in and Alana tells him he’s encouraging an uprising against her. She tells him she knows it was his code that took the medication used to treat the kid. She tells him that Pegasus is their only lifeline and that him undermining her is self-defeating.

Alex and Jackson come to tell the girlfriend how the surgery went. The girl/boy’s dad was lurking to hear surgery results and the girl tells him that she sent the email to let him know about the surgery. She tells him that his daughter/son loves him and even wants to be him. She tries to explain how hard it is to be kids like them and that he just wants his dad to love him. The dad hands her some money to help them with rent but declines to stay to be there when his daughter (now son) wakes up.

Mer tells Alex that he needs to get together with Jo because she kicks ass. Jo comes up and grabs Alex. Callie and Richard sit in the car staring at Seattle Grace saying how much they’ll miss it. Richard tells her he’s got an early retirement package he’ll probably take. He tells her good night.

April comes out to find Matthew waiting on her. He asks how the kid is and she says great. He’s relieved. Matthew is nervous, but tells her she’s strong, fearless and beautiful and that he really likes her. She kisses him. They are still kissing when Jackson and Steph walk by.

Jo drags Alex into a storage room. She pulls out a box of donuts she stole from the derm nurses who won’t eat them because they’re all on diets. She tells him he did a great job and tells him to get a powdered sugar since it’s his favorite. He watches her sloppily eat with sugar everywhere and smiles.

Owen tells Cristina that they’re all killing him. She says it was the right thing to do and he says it’s still killing him. All the doctors are on the roof except Cristina. She tells them they are the reason the hospital is in trouble and they shouldn’t let Pegasus take over. She proposes they buy the hospital themselves.

Richard gets on an elevator and as the doors close, he sees a giant picture of a smiling Derek that takes up both doors.

THE END!
