We have been hearing for months now that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s marriage is on really shaky ground for a multitude of reasons. Ellen’s bad temper after a few drinks and penchant for wining and dining other women has reportedly sat badly with Portia. She is also sick of living under Ellen’s thumb and having to turn down work for the perceived greater good of keeping the peace at home. Now according to the March 31st print edition of National Enquirer the ladies have decided to take things a bit further and reach out for help.
Sources close to the couple claim that they have decided to give marriage counseling a try. The fighting has reportedly reached epic proportions and both Ellen and Portia agree that they need someone to intervene and to help them towards actually communicating with one another again. The real question is whether or not Portia even wants the marriage to work. Sources say that she has felt for a long time like her whole life has become all about supporting Ellen and Ellen’s career. Somehow she totally lost herself and when she thinks about it she gets really angry.
Do you think that counseling will help Ellen and Portia hold it together? They say that two-thirds of all couples that go to counseling end up doing so in order to be able to actually split up in a civil way. Do you think that they’ll be part of the statistic? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
