Prince William will be solo for a Royal visit to Germany in late August. Once again Kate Middleton will be left behind, deserted by the future King. Kensington Palace announced on August 9 that William will travel to Dusseldorf to celebrate 70 years of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. “During [Prince William’s] visit, HRH will attend events hounoring the role of British Forces Germany and the strong ties between [North Rhine-Westphalia] and Britain,” the Palace tweeted.
Maybe the Duke of Cambridge isn’t deserting the Duchess of Cambridge after all. Kate’s history for shunning Royal responsibilities is nothing new.
This is a momentous Royal visit to North Rhine-Westphalia. Prince William will give a speech as Minister President Hannelore Kraft presents the Fahnenband to the 20th Armoured Brigade – this is the state’s highest military honour.
Later in the evening of August 23 Prince William will attend the 70th anniversary gala where the future King will meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Don’t you think it’s important that the future Queen of England meet the German Chancellor?
Kate does need to rest up for the taxing official Royal visit to Canada in October. Trekking through British Columbia and the Yukon Territory is a lot to ask after Kate Middleton already dragged her behind all over India and Bhutan in April.
The Cambridge’s spent nearly all of June together for Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday celebration. Then there was Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, Prince George’s 3rd birthday, and the America’s World Cup World Series. These two must be sick of all this togetherness.
Thank goodness Duke and Duchess of Cambridge weren’t forced to travel to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics. One more moment together in public and their fragile marriage would probably snap.
While William is away in Dusseldorf, Kate will have plenty of time to help Pippa Middleton as the British socialite plans her extravagant 2017 society wedding to James Matthews. Kate, Pippa and Carole Middleton must be elbows deep in wedding plans, making a list of all the Royal connections that can be taken advantage of in order to pull of the wedding of the year.
It could be that Prince William has grown weary of traveling all over the world and fulfilling Royal obligations with Kate Middleton.
