Anne Hathaway clearly has delusions of grandeur as she has announced that she would be willing to play Kate Middleton if the opportunity came up. Can you imagine American Anne trying to imitate the delicate London British accent of Royal Kate?
Anne has already been slammed for her failed attempt to do a Yorkshire accent properly in her new movie ‘One Day’ – and she should have the brains to realize that if Hollywood insists on making a movie featuring the Royal couple that they would get a British actress.
Hathaway spoke with a reporter from the Sun at her movies London premiere last night: Hathaway said she would not rule out the possibility of playing Middleton someday.
“I haven’t really thought about it before,” she said, “but yes, why not. She’s great. It’s such a fairy tale.” Comments on the Sun’s Web site showed that people seem adamantly opposed to the idea.
“Stay away from that role,” warns one, succinctly summing up the views of many. “You have a rubbish British accent.” If Hollywood does make a Duchess of Cambridge film, which would already be a bad joke, they would never be stupid enough to cast Anne Hathaway in the lead role… or would they?
