Perhaps the third time’s the charm for Wynonna Judd who married her third husband, drummer Cactus Moser, on June 10, but the closest women in her life, mother Naomi Judd, and sister, Ashley Judd didn’t even bother showing up.
I hope they at least sent a card.
Wynonna revealed the sad news to Us Weekly and said timing and distance were not the issues for her famous family members’ no shows. She said she wasn’t even sure they knew the wedding was going on in the first place, which is beyond odd since they all live within a few miles of each other on a beautiful Kentucky farm. “Mom is at 11 o’clock, Ashley is like at 1 o’clock and I’m at 6 o’clock,” Wynonna told the magazine. “Ashley’s probably so busy with [husband] Dario [Franchitti] having won the Indianapolis 500, she probably doesn’t even know.”
Ya, because that happened in late May and everything.
But Wynonna says there’s no hard feelings. She just wanted the day to focus on her and her new husband. “I didn’t want it to be about anyone but Cactus and me,” Wynonna explained. “Because to me, at the end of the day, it’s the children, Cactus, and me . . I was so concerned about making this feel special for them, everything fell away. If I know Ashley, she would have re-positioned my dress, or Mom would have given me a Kleenex to stuff in my bra, or told me, I have something in my teeth. I just didn’t want that. I just wanted to get married!”
She says the famous trio will get together soon for some good ‘ole reaffirmations. “I’m getting ready to have a meeting with Ashley, and re-do our family contract, and re-set our boundaries,” Wynonna said. “It’s just really healthy. We’re getting ready to sit down with our life coach and re-evaluate what we want out of this relationship . . . We just don’t have a lot of contact right now, if any, because we’re all doing our own thing.”
Does that sound healthy to you? I’m not so sure. Those three always have so much drama. Too much talent and estrogen in the air. I can’t blame Wynonna too much for wanting her mom and sister to stay away. Have you ever heard Ashley give an interview? INSUFFERABLE. I watched the Indy 500 and I always root for Dario because I love listening to his gorgeous Scottish accent when he wins, but the flip side of that is Ashley dancing around the oval like a loon granting ridiculously long, pretentious interviews. It’s actually super fun to watch.
Do you think Ashley was being all high and mighty and just too busy with her life to cross the field and attend her sister’s wedding or do you think her absence was just the wedding gift Wynonna needed?
