Despite all of their loud denials to the contrary, Emily Maynard and Jef Holm of The Bachelorette infamy finally confirmed nearly a week ago what we here at Celeb Dirty Laundry and the rest of the world had long known – they were split, done, broken up, no more…
That was last Tuesday and then on Wednesday, Emily was seen out and about without (gasp) her engagement ring! This was not the shocker – the real shocker was that she’d been tooling around with it on for weeks, lying and saying it was all rainbows and lollipops in Jef and Emily love land!
When they did finally admit to the split, Emily called it “a very difficult and heartbreaking decision” and that “we tried our best because the love between us was so real.” What turned out to be real was their break up. But perhaps that real love has now overridden that real break up…
E! reported that this weekend Jef and Emily were spotted out together in Charlotte, NC – Emily’s hometown – along with her 7 year old daughter Ricki Hendricks. Jef tweeted hours after their reunion “Days like today are what life is all about.”
Emily, for her part, tweeted only banal stuff about the mall and her fave TV show – Homeland (for the record). Maybe that’s what Jef’s life is all about, but seems like Em’s is more about shopping and her daughter.
So this spawns many questions: Are Emily and Jef back on or were they meeting for her to hand back the sparkler he gave her at the culmination of their showmance?
Are they considering getting back together because they’re really truly in love? Are they considering reuniting because it’s a more profitable world when they’re united? Is the wedding back on? If so, is it because they want the attention, the money or both?
One thing’s for sure, if it’s not the real deal, why are Jef and Emily hanging out together with little Ricky in tow? Seems like the kid has had enough heartache – losing her dad before she could know him and now getting to know Jef and losing him. Why put the poor kid through it again?
And no matter what Jef and Emily say, looks like we can’t believe them. So maybe they’re back on, maybe not – it won’t change my life either way – but for poor little Ricki, let’s hope they either get hitched or get on with their lives and quit playing with her emotions!
