Don’t feel bad for Johnny Depp! The actor may be going through a bad breakup from his longtime girlfriend and baby mama Vanessa Paradis, but that doesn’t mean that he’s sitting around moping and eating Chunky Monkey ice cream.
In fact, according to RadarOnline, the 49-year-old Dark Shadows actor is downright thrilled about finally being free from his French ex:
“Johnny has been saying that he is immensely relieved to finally be out of the relationship with Vanessa, he feels like the weight of the world is off his shoulders,” said a source to the gossip website.
“As they were splitting up and only those close to them knew about it, Johnny was struggling with keeping his life hidden. He was out partying too much, friends were worried about his drinking and he was starting to get out of control. Once he and Vanessa admitted that their relationship was over he was able to loosen up and not wallow in misery,” added the insider.
Reportedly, the couple split in 2011 but waited until this past spring to officially go public with the information. Since then, Johnny has been rumored to be dating his Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard.
“Johnny wants to move on with his life, he’s happy dating other women and he’s able to do so freely now,” said the insider. “His relationship with Vanessa was so bad at the end and now he’s happy again. He’s relieved that it is over and he can move on.“
