The pressure is mounting for Kate Middleton and Prince William to announce that she is pregnant – in fact royal watchers are hoping to hear the good news by the couple’s first wedding anniversary later this month. So Duchess Kate is pregnant… or is she? It seems every royal watcher as well as many news outlets enjoy fanning the flames of hope.
Reality is, this couple will likely have a child on their own terms and not until they are good and ready: “They’re moving at their own pace, rather than according to outside expectations,” says Carolyn Harris, founder of royalhistorian.com. Adding: “There seems to be real interest in helping Kate adjust to Royal life before starting a family.”
Kate is most definitely a modern princess. As a new royal she has yet to make an even minor faux pas. She is poised, polite and intelligent at her appearances which surely put her in high standing with the royals. More importantly, she is a modern woman that still on occasion does her own grocery shopping. We see her running, walking her dog, going about her daily life as a modern woman.

Up until January 2011, Kate was gainfully employed, first as an accessory buyer and later as a catalogue photographer. Yes she is stunning but also on some levels, she is relatable. Perhaps that is why she is widely accepted and rarely panned.
