Katie Holmes is ready and willing to get back to work now that her divorce with Tom Cruise is settled and Hollywood is welcoming her back with loving arms full of cash. Sources say Katie has been bombarded with movie and interview offers resulting to a staggering $40 million.
“She can’t believe it,” a friend close to the actress told Now magazine. “She’s had calls from US movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who wants to put her in a sure-fire Oscar-worthy movie, calls about a Dawson’s Creek reunion and offers from fashion and cosmetics giants offering her blank checks to be the face of their brand. Everyone wants a piece of Katie now she’s stood up to the might of Tom and his insidious ‘religion’.”
But those all pertain to Katie Holmes the actress. Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise’s ex-wife, is also in huge demand. The magazine says she’s had six-figure offers from the likes of Oprah and Piers Morgan for her first interview. I doubt she’ll ever give it though. I’m assuming Tom put a strong gag order on her when he let her walk away with Suri Cruise.
Katie may be considering the big-time acting roles but she’s only settled on Broadway so far. She signed up to play in Dead Accounts this Fall. Perhaps she’s trying to prove herself all over again? Her career took a massive hit when she cast herself as Tom Cruise’s wife. The source explained, “Tom was so controlling he harmed her career rather than helped it. Now Katie’s free to become a star in her own right.”
And the good news is trickling over to her fashion line as well. Fox News reports Holmes & Yang is blowing up. It will show in fashion week this fall so the odds that it will grow are pretty good.
Who knew divorce could be so positive? She’d be stupid not to take advantage. It’s not like Katie’s Shakespeare material. I never thought her acting was all that great.
