Oprah’s finally started keeping up with those Kardashians and said she’s “leveled” by Kim Kardashian’s admissions about her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
Her interview with the entire Kardashian clan will be shown on Oprah’s Next Chapter this Sunday. Oprah admits on her blog that she’d never met one of those rascally Kardashians before and had never watched the show until she crammed before the interview. She’s too busy chilling with Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jay-Z obviously. If you think Oprah doesn’t play the Hollywood high school popularity game then you are sadly mistaken.
Oprah chats with the family about fame, family dynamics, and the divorce heard round the world. “Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really ‘famous for being famous’ or is there something more? I ‘GOT IT’ … those answers +more. Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.”
“Another level of forthrightness and honesty”… from the Kardashians? Oh Oprah! Your integrity is taking a beating along with your network’s ratings.
The Kardashians have been news for a while now. Why is she just now getting around to interviewing them? Because she never wanted to before! And she never needed to before… but she does now. It’s no secret Oprah’s OWN is struggling for viewers. Wait, you mean people aren’t clamoring to see “Lives on Fire”? No, of course not. They’re too busy watching those damned Kardashians!
But I’ll tell you what. It worked. I’m all about watching this – not because I think Oprah’s going to get one of her brilliant “Ah ha!” moments or that Kim is going to tell the truth about anything. I want to watch Oprah squirm. She generally doesn’t approve of famewhores and doesn’t like to interview them so this will be fun. She’ll suck up because she has to. She needs them. Whoever would have thought the Kardashians would have more power than the Almighty O?
