Is Monaco Royal Charlotte Casiraghi "Too Smart" To Be A Model?

She may be the star of Gucci’s lastest fashion campaign, but don’t call Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi a fashion model!

The 25-year-old daughter of Princess Caroline and the niece of the French Riviera country’s ruler, Prince Albert, clearly inherited her grandmother Grace Kelly’s stunning good looks, but, according to a French journalist Stéphane Bern, Charlotte has zero interest in strutting the catwalks during Paris Fashion Week.

She has absolutely no interest in being a model, she’s much too intelligent for that. But competing in horse competitions costs a lot of money. You have to transport your horses one day to Dubai, the next day to Spain, pay for their care, the trainer. Gucci helps by writing checks with lots of zeros,” he said to the New York Times.

Charlotte herself also recently told French Elle that she “refuses” to be associated with any brand, and that the Gucci campaign “pays homage to the Gucci spirit, to 90 years of the history of the house, to our common passion for horsemanship. I do not represent any product or any collection.”

Don’t call her a princess either:

I’m not a princess…My mother is, not I. I am the niece of a head of state. And with this status, I have some representational duties, nothing very constraining or very exceptional,” she said to French Vogue last year, when she appeared on their cover. So, what should we call Charlotte Casiraghi? A royal relative like Pippa Middleton? A lover of horses and very expensive clothes? Perhaps, we should just call her lucky.
