No Curtsys For Kate Middleton At Wimbledon As She Holds Center Court 0704

Prince William and Kate Middleton showed up at center court at Wimbledon today to watch Roger Federer take on Mikhail Youzhny. The duchess recycled her Alexander McQueen flapper dress that she wore one year ago to the day during her Canadian tour. It was appropriate and cute and very tennis-centric.

To say Kate and William made an impact at the All England Club would be an understatement. “My Life is complete!” tweeted German women’s player Anna-Lena Groenefeld. “I don’t care that we won the Mixed! Prince William said hi to me! I was so excited I won my service game!????”

Adorable. Kate and Will shared the royal box with tennis God Rod Laver as well as former Wimbledon champions Andre Agassi and wife Steffi Graf. Screw the crown. I’m more jealous that Kate got to hang out with Andre and Steffi!

Looks like Kate kicked her mom and little sister out of the royal box for the visit. Carole and Michael Middleton took advantage of the royal seats yesterday and Pippa and James Middleton hogged the box last week. The royal family might have their horses but the athletic, middle class Middletons have their tennis. They love it and go every year and will continue which makes me look forward to every July for the next fifty years even more.

And if you’re wondering why the players didn’t curtsy to Kate after the match it wasn’t because they were all Team Queen and thought she was too common. The Duke of Kent got rid of the rule stating players had to curtsy to the royals in the box after the match. Poor Kate, now even tennis players don’t have to curtsy to her!
