Justin Bieber is opening up about his first kiss with Selena Gomez and he’s making 12-year-old girls around the world sigh with his tales of butterflies, unicorns and pure, whole milk after a box of Oreos happiness.
He told Fabulous magazine that his first kiss with Selena was “the best of his life” though he was nervous to pull the trigger. “It was in the car. It was scary and spontaneous and it was just awesome.”
The couple have been dating since 2010 and show no signs of slowing down. In fact, Bieber goes on to divulge what it feels like to be so in love. Warning, if you just ate, please stop reading. “What does love feel like? It feels good. If you’re really in love then you should get butterflies. Butterflies and happiness, that’s how I feel anyway.”
OK, I’m going to try to be nice here. It’s sweet that he thinks that. I even think he believes it. First love is magical, right? You do feel butterflies and think you’ll be together forever and that nothing in the world could possibly change how you feel about each other. But boys don’t talk about butterflies!! I’m sorry, can’t he just say “love is cool” or “awesome” or that he really likes getting laid on a regular basis? Why does he make it so hard for me to find him hot? He wants to be this ultra cool, suave, older man and reach a new demographic but how can he when he talks about lovey dovey butterflies?!
Because you can’t tell me he’s not marketing savvy. He even checks himself in the interview so he doesn’t anger his little legion of ‘tween fans by gushing about his older girl too much. “But I never like to throw it in my fans’ faces. I love my fans and I’d never want to do that to them. It’s my private life and I like to keep separate. I don’t have many things that I get to keep to myself but that’s one thing.”
Oh please. He’d talk about Selena all day long if you let him. He’d talk about how much he loves the shampoo she uses and his favorite color nail polish she wears and if he likes her hair curly or straight. He’s got it bad. The only reason he doesn’t gross us out with all those sweet tidbits is because his publicist probably told him to knock it off.
Ugh, am I just being old and crotchety or do you find Justin’s devotion to Selena manly and endearing?
