Tonight on Lifetime Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition returns with another new episode called, “Gods and Mortals.” On this week’s show One mom gets extreme when she overhears the others mothers talking about her daughter’s weaknesses.. Did you watch last week’s season 2 premiere episode? We did and we recapped it right here for you.
On last week’s show with the week’s competition theme as “Dare to be You,” all the dances were inspired by Lady Gaga. Under the eyes of the week’s challenge choreographer Richy Jackson, the young competitors struggled to embrace their own originality. The moms cracked down hard on the dancers, encouraging them to “bring it” to the dance floor and one young dancer came close to breaking down when she could not remember her routine. When one mom threw another mom under the bus, things got ugly.
On tonight’s show Abby is the dance goddess of the week and the dancers strive to attain dance immortality when the theme is “Gods and Mortals.” There are nine dancers left and the performers in last week’s bottom group struggle to prove that they deserve to be in the competition. The skill is “Power” and this week’s challenge winner and her mom get to make all the dance assignments and quickly discover holding the power isn’t always easy. One mom gets extreme when she overhears the others mothers talking about her daughter’s weaknesses.
Tonight’s episode is going to be a drama packed one, which you won’t want to miss. So be sure to tune in for live coverage of Lifetime’s Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition Season 2 episode 3 — tonight at 9PM EST.
RECAP: Angela is happy that Chloe is there, Melanie is pushing Haley really far and says they are going home with the money. Abby says there are ten dancers because they got lucky; she is looking for the power skill. Two guests are helping out this week, Maddie and Mackenzie from Dance Moms; they do some sample dance moves.
It’s time for a legendary dance battle, Abbie will call two dancers on to the stage to battle it out; winner stays, loser runs to mommy.
Travis and Tyler go head to head; Travis wins. Jiana is next against Travis, he wins again. Now it is Haley and Abbie critisices her for one of moves and throws her off stage. Trinity knocks Travis out and she then goes against Chloe. Kalani is next against Trinity, she wins. McKaylee goes next and she wins, Jojo then has to go against her and loses. Ally goes up against McKaylee and she wins. Abbie tells Ally she was one of the worst scores, but now she wins and she gets to cast with her mom, the remaining dancers. Abbie calls Ally the dance God. Tiffany is working with Ally to choose the dancers, she is doing everything to disturb the rest of the dancers so Ally can stay on top. Here are the groups:
Lyrical: Travis and Trinity
Jazz: Kalani and Haley
Modern Funk: Jojo, Jiana and Chloe
Contemporary: McKaylee, Ally and Tyler
The girls from Dance Moms visit the dancers back stage and give them some tips and wish them good luck in rehearsals. Abbie is looking for who is confident and who strong.
Meanwhile, the mom’s are going at it; Melanie is screaming at Shari and says she should take the sword and whack her across the throat with it, ouch!
Time for the competition, the moms are working overtime mentally coaching their kids backstage. The Jazz piece is first with Kalani and Haley. Abbie didn’t like Kalani’s performance and she was concerned that Haley wouldn’t keep up, but she did.
The contemporary piece is next with McKaylee, Ally and Tyler. Abby choose Ally as the strongest player in the challenge and thinks she brought her diva to this performance, the only thing she didn’t like was her feet at the end. She wanted to see Tyler do more, everything he’s got. She thinks McKaylee was really technical and looked like a working dancer.
On to the lyrical number with Travis and Trinity. The crowd is going crazy, Abbie loved how strong Travis was, she thought Trinity paid attention to her feet but needs to work on her flexibility.
The final performance for the night is the modern funk with Jojo, Jiana and Chloe. Abbie thought Jojo rock it out, Jiani’s timing was off and Chloe fell and didn’t face her center.
The ten dancers are on stage, Kalani, Jiani and Chloe are called up in front of stage, they are in the bottom three. Abbie tells Jiani that she has been blessed, she is safe.
The person heading home and leaving the competition tonight is Chloe.
