Farrah Abraham has just landed a role as a hooker on Days of Our Lives. In other words, she will play to her strengths.
You know how she landed this role? Well, a good old audition tape. As much as I want to rag on her for this, I actually appreciate that she made an audition. Most reality stars, once they get to a certain point, just start assuming that they never have to audition for anything and can just reach out to contacts to make things ‘happen’, but Farrah actually put in the effort to make a tape.
Now, I really, really hope this doesn’t mean that she’s going to be ‘acting’ in more things because she’s an atrocious actress. You can see that from the video tape itself, and while I’m sure there’s a minimum of acting ability that’s required to be on Days of Our Lives, this reeks of stunt casting. Just like when they cast James Franco, the show will get a significant boost from audience members who know who Farrah is but otherwise wouldn’t watch. Obviously, the difference between both situations is that Franco’s a terrific actor, even if he’s a tad insufferable, whereas Farrah – once again – cannot act.
Do you think her landing this role will mean she’s trying to move into acting? I don’t think anyone would actually want that. She’s already graced the pop culture enough with her sex tape and shenanigans on Teen Mom, I don’t think we need to see her ‘acting’ any more. It’s bad enough that Kim Kardashian keeps trying to act, but if we start having reality stars all jump on the acting bandwagon, we’ll be left left in a wasteland of bad acting and plastic faces.
