Jennifer Lawrence Cut Her Hair Because Of Bald Spots

The most recent buzz surrounding Jennifer Lawrence, apart from her apparent reunion with ex-BF Nicholas Hoult, is the fact that she cut her hair short. Now, we’ve had her own speculation about why she ended up chopping off most of her locks, but Star Magazine has its own theories.

A source from Star claims that, “Jen chopped her hair off because it’s falling out of her head. She’s had so many chemical treatments and extensions that the only thing she could do to make her hair healthy again was to start over.”

You know, Gossip Cop already denied this claim and says that ‘Jen just wanted to try something new’. Yeah, we’ve already heard that version of the story.

Now, there’s no doubt in my mind that Jennifer did want to try something new. There’s nothing like being an A-list Hollywood actress with millions of dollars at your disposal and being able to try ‘something new’.

However, you’ll also be surprised at the number of actresses who are having issues with their hair. You realize how many times they have to get their hair dyed, bleached, straightened, curled, styled, etc. etc? For each event, for each movie shoot, every day that they’re filming, their hair is tugged, pulled, shaped, colored, dyed, and set to look like something other than what their natural hair looks like. It’s only a matter of time before there’s damage.

And again, I don’t doubt that Jen wanted to try something new. But either consciously or subconsciously, I wouldn’t doubt that damage had something to do with it. Having short hair makes it easier for your roots to heal and to maintain the hair that you have. So yes, I think Jen’s hair was damaged – which she herself has admitted happened in the past because of the harsh dye used for the Hunger Games and the chemicals used for X-Men: First Class – and I think she wanted to minimize the damage and let her hair heal.
