We’ve just found out that Prince Harry is set to announce on Friday that he will be walking to the South Pole for charity. Harry’s said to be making a formal announcement on Friday when he attends the Walking With the Wounded fundraiser. And this isn’t the first time Harry’s done something like this for charity.
In 2011, Harry did three days of a walk to the North Pole, but couldn’t finish because he had to go to prepare for the royal wedding. At the time, he spoke about how much he wants to do something like this again, and now, he’s set to finish what he started, but on the opposite side of the globe.
While this all admirable and honorable, the timing is a bit curious. The last time Harry had a few days off, we all know what happened, don’t we? He ended up naked on the cover of tabloids. There’s no doubt that he’s interested in charity, but there’s also no question that if he’s left alone, he might end up back in Vegas or somewhere similar. There’s no question in my mind while this was something he was always interested in, it was Queen Elizabeth’s decision to send him. I’m sure Kate Middleton also wouldn’t be too upset, considering that she won’t have to worry about her brother-in-law embarrassing the family again right before she has birth.
