Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton: Greedy Opportunists Buy Up Tishomingo Hometown – Another Graceland?

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton: Greedy Opportunists Buy Up Tishomingo Hometown – Another Graceland?

After recently purchasing a building on their Main Street Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have decided to open a B&B.  Which is sweet if they were going the Tori and Dean route but the L&S also revealed that it wasn’t the first time the couple tried to rejuvenate their neighborhood. “Miranda currently owns and operates Pink Pistol, a clothing store across the street from their newly acquired property.”

One piece of real estate is altruistic. Two is suspicious. Three is the sequel to Graceland.

If they only hired natives and some form of income was donated back to the city and not to further their portfolio then it’s saving their hometown. But if it’s just two rich people buying up property during an open season like a global recession for instance – it’s an investment.   There is nothing wrong with making plans for retirement. Everybody does it. Let’s just try not to wrap the rich getting richer up in a charity bow.

Blake and Miranda are thinking about their futures just not about their hometown. After all who will benefit from the little sprucing up more than the tourists who would happily flock to the stars’ location.  After all “people have been coming from as far as California and Missouri and Texas” just to visit Miranda and Blake’s hometown. A place Miranda has been quite vocal about never leaving. “She counts on growing old with Blake in the country.” Which such informative friends who happily try to downplay it, it’s hard to be considered country lovers when buying up Main Street.

With all these tourists coming in, I wonder where they’ll book for the night or do some light shopping afterwards?  It must be the same place that a good percentage of the Tishomingo natives can’t as easily afford. Until then let’s just enjoy their publicist’s PR mission.
